We are new in town and a friend took my daughters and I up for a visit. The area is just beautiful and the smell would be as you would expect from a dairy farm. My eldest girl didn't mind, but my littlest held her nose. It was fairly ripe, but again, it's a farm!

The customer service was excellent! Staff was courteous and attentive. They were lovely to my 4 and 5 year old girls. I ordered the burger , the kids had fish and chips, my bestie ordered the chicken parm.

It was about a 40 minute wait for our food. The portion sizes were enormous. My burger was well presented, the chips crispy. It was delicious. I had a cannoli as well and it was outstanding .

The girls fish and chips looked very crispy and they enjoyed it. My friend liked the chicken parm, but there was very little sauce. She said the potato wedges were too much, as it made her meal too heavy.

The kids enjoyed the milkshakes, they had the banana, I had the caramel, my friend had the coffee. We both felt the milkshakes were too sweet for our adult taste.

After our meal we bought some jam, chocolates and cheese.. The highlights were the kiwi jam(amazing) and the Gruyere. I loved the taste of the cracked pepper and the volcano cheese, but they both had a processed background texture I didn't enjoy. For chocolate I felt the cappuccino ones were to die for..

Overall it was a nice afternoon out, the kids had fun...we had fun. We will be going...

We always enjoy our visits to Gallos Dairyland and make it a must-stop for any friends or family visiting the Tablelands. In my opinion, they have some of the best chocolate and cheese in Cairns plus getting to watch the cheese and chocolate making in action is always a treat.

The hot food menu is consistently top-notch, especially when you can enjoy it overlooking the beautiful views of the countryside. The large indoor restaurant is comfortable but can get a bit cool at times, so I generally bring along a jacket just in case. Staff are mostly friendly, welcoming, and willing to help and the gift shop also offers a selection of various local goodies.

The only downside, and unfortunately it’s been a constant one over the years, is the state and cleanliness of the bathrooms. They’re consistently well below par, which is disappointing for such a large and otherwise reasonably well-maintained establishment. They’re not just dirty, they really need some serious attention as it does detract from the overall experience, to the point where we prefer to use facilities elsewhere.

That said, Gallos remains a favourite for its delicious food, and unique tablelands experience. We’ll keep coming back, but please give the bathrooms get the attention they so...

Best cheese and chocolate in Far North QLD. Gallo Dairyland is a must-visit. Very popular with locals and tourists. The cafe is clean, light and spacious, so there is always room for hungry & thirsty. Large windows overlook a green, hilly countryside. Very picturesque and tranquil. Meals are very delicious and generous - we had soup of the day and crumbled steak served with chips, salad and gravy. Their coffee is very good. Just keep in mind the kitchen is closing at 2 pm (you still can have drinks after this time). What this place is most famous for is cheese and chocolate. Both are unique and incredibly yummy. Unfortunately, they do not do cheese tasting any more, but all their products are so good, whatever you choose, you can't go wrong. The staff is friendly, attentive and welcoming. There is a separate room overlooking areas where cheese and chocolate are made, and visitors can watch the process as well as a TV screen playing a video about the history of the place. There is also an animal nursery. Plenty of parking. Looking forward to returning to...

Underwhelming to visit. I don't recommend making the stop, the served cheese is mediocre at best and dry hard camembert at worst. Worth noting their is no view from the cafe to the farm or cheese factory but rather the road. The cheese platter for one-three @ $30 quantity of cheese was very good but lacked antipasto. Camembert - at room temperature it is not creamy in the slightest, it's dry, thin rind, squeezing it is quite tough no movement at all. Macadamia - good but tastes like processed cream cheese, Heritage - good but nothing better than the supermarket. Seven sisters cheese was awful and was in the greatest quality on the platter. Chocolate was good. It would be best to just buy it in town somewhere you're staying if you want to try it. I left without anything to take home which was quite disappointing as it wasn't worth it. None of the cheeses I wanted to try were on the platter and no cheese tastings offered.
