Just down the Toowoomba range is a fantastic German Bake and Wurst House at Helidon Spa. Tucked away just off the highway this place is immaculate. Beautiful gardens (even in this drought), lots of parking and a big undercover shady area overlooking the garden. We enjoyed some giant tasty German sausages (as you can see one spilled over the plate) 😂. I enjoyed every single mouthful of the fluffy light marshmallow and lemon curd cake - not overly sweet and I couldn't talk while I was eating it because it was so yummy. Washed down with delicious coffee. All the bread and cakes here are made with organic ingredients!! Our 10 year old son Ned, LOVED the lentil soup, it was delicious, thick and creamy. Excellent coffee and fast customer service. Absolutely worth the drive (and be sure to take some of the delicious bread home with you!)

Tucked away amongst a beautiful country setting with a delectable choice of savoury and sweet delights The German Bake & Wurst house is a unique culinary experience. I had the Knackwurst with sauerkraut, potato bake and coleslaw, for under $10. The combination of flavours complemented each other and was an absolute delight. Followed by the apple crumble with a dollop of cream that was not too rich nor again expensive, while my wife had the mocha cake. Service was sincerely hospitable and the dining area's décor complete with LED lights and photos added to the charm. I couldn't recommend this experience any higher and encourage all to pay a visit to enjoy this meticulously clean and distinctive German Bake & Wurst House.

Been wanting to try for years, but heard mixed reviews. Glad we finally did. Delightful owner, cheese kransky was the nicest German sausage of any description we've EVER eaten. Salads fresh and delicious. Delightful cake selection, hot coffee. Great surroundings, scrupulously clean. Will be back regularly now ...

On our road trip from Kingaroy to Brisbane we stopped at German Bake & Wurst House. It's found inland from the Warrego Highway. The black and white German style cafe is found on the front part of the property. Keep an eye out for the small signs/ flags on the fence.

You're greeted by two lovely ladies. We ordered lunch and cake. There's clean public toilets and a covered patio area to eat and relax. Gardens had colourful bougainvillea flowers growing. We enjoyed the knackwurst and sauerkraut meals. The kids liked the sausage and the meatball roll. Lovely fresh bread. It was simple flavours and brought back memories of German holidays.

There were a variety of lovely cakes in the cabinet. We enjoyed the chocolate cake, filled with chocolate soft mousse and slight bitter cocoa top - just perfect! Highly recommend stopping in if you're...
