I recently visited The famous Gig Gin bakery, and now I know what they’re famous for—but it’s not the food, as I didn’t even get the chance to try it. A sign says, "No animals allowed IN the eatery," placed behind the front terrace, which didn’t mention the outdoor terrace. So, I sat there with my guide dog, waiting for my friends, thinking it was fine. After about 10 minutes, a staff member finally told my partner, “No animals!” and asked us to leave, giving us no chance to explain. The whole situation was not only confusing due to the sign’s wording and placement but also left me feeling stupid and embarrassed. I don't question the owner's rules, but I wonder about this place's customer service skills. With the upcoming highway development, you will miss us, the travellers. We were 9 cars, lost a lot of business there. However, repositioning the “No animals allowed in the eatery” sign to the entry, where is a more visible spot could prevent others from feeling the same. On a positive note, Mack and Lulu across the road were warm and welcoming.

Travelling Aussies 🇦🇺 A fantastic place to stop while travelling on the Bruce A good range of hot and cold food options, cold drinks and remarkably good coffee ☕️ Famous for their fresh sandwiches and delicious pies 🥧 😋 Plenty of on-street parking for long vehicles on both the north and south bound sides of the road out front There’s outdoor seating at the bakery and garden seating on the median adjacent car parking bays Clean amenities, friendly service but there can be a short wait during busy times Can personally recommend the curry steak pie 🏆😋

Disgusting behaviour from staff regarding a simple misunderstanding that could have been dealt with if I had been professionally approached quietly at my table beside the front stairs instead of the staff member yelling at me from the door of the bakery across the crowded outdoor eating area embarrassing me immensely and then the staff member lying to the owner that I yelled at her when the staff member closed the door in my face. Her response to my inquiry was dealt with later on with complete lies. Mushroom pie disgusting. Plain pie needs a lot of tomato sauce to be eaten. The owner manager told me she doesn’t care about customers whether they return or not. No apology from her regarding her staffs actions. I walked into the bakery to find the owner and staff member talking rudely about me. She never gave us another option to rectify the situation regarding us not knowing our dog was not allowed, just rudely told us to leave. So called Sweets are disgustingly sickly as well. Don’t bother going here on a long weekend or any weekend as they...

We were passing through and stopped at this bakery. So clad we did, the 2 mushroom pies were full of mushrooms and mince, and a nice gravy. And the pastry was flaky. No sauce needed. The 2 donuts were fresh and tasty. You stand 6 deep waiting to be served. They have 3 girls behind the counter. There were about 7 tables outside. Each table sits 4. And they were all taken. We parked in a side street. The main street was full of cars 🚗. On a week day. 2025. And I do suggest you stop at the bakery at Cardwell. And also Babinda Bakery. And on the New England Highway in NSW, Deep Water Bakery. And Gulgong bakery west of Mudgee NSW. And The Ceda Bake house at Taranganba near Yeppoon. And Mace’s hot bread at Miles on the Warrego Hwy. And Howard Hot bread. If you happen to be on the Gold Coast. Mason Winery on Mount Tambourine for fine dining and wine tasting. Their reviews speak...
