Stanthorpe Cheese and Jersey Girls Cafe was a discovery off some maps and searches.
The menu sounded great. I particularly appreciated that I could get a Ploughman’s lunch for one. Overall the platter was very good in terms of the variety of vegetables and relishes, in addition to fruit. However, it was disappointing that wafer thin processed supermarket ham was used along with highly processed sausage meat. It would be great to see these two products replaced with some quality smoked ham and salami. This would really enhance the experience.
My partner thoroughly enjoyed his triple cheese toastie. Whist simple it was very well balanced and perfectly cheesie!
It was also positive to see one of the team acknowledge that they didn’t know the answer to a question about a particular type of cheese curd and seek assistance.

Tea was extra.. $3.50 I sat outside next to the wood stove at a table which was full of dirty dishes covered in flies. I asked them to be taken away which they were… no attempt to wipe clean the table of the previous diners food crumbs ? One of my pet peeves… even after Covid hygiene is not good here. Upon arrival there was dog poo in the carpark… this should have been my clue to go elsewhere… a sign said they are not responsible for flies as it is ”outdoors”… another sign said keep your pets off the sofa as dog hair may cause allergies. Seriously? Why are dogs allowed in the dining area in the first instance?
$7 for my ONE scone which when I asked if it was freshly baked they admitted it was frozen and reheated., I will not be back. Gotta do better than this.
I did buy some cheeses but have not...
