UPDATED (5 stars only for food): Finally, with family and friends, I went back to my favourite local restaurant for the first time since they relocated. We ordered a range of meals from the menu and they were all as amazing as they used to be. They had, however, apparently run out of pizza bases, which was disappointing for 6:30pm on a Saturday evening. Unfortunately, much about the restaurant had changed for the worse. I would say itâs hardly a restaurant anymore. Itâs more of a club or eatery, with bright lighting, keno, pokies, horse racing on the tvs, untidy decor and a hall-type feel, and no ambient music. No table service was a surprise. Drinks and meals had to be ordered and paid for at the bar, and because of this we couldnât feel the happy friendly customer service from the staff that we were so fond of before. The drinks were a lot more expensive than they used to be. The cocktail list seemed to be the same, but the prices had increased so much that they were now unappealing. I used to knock down at least five or six cocktails, trying to get most of the way through the list before leaving, but I didnât even order one this time. Overall, I would hope the owners reflect on what it was that made their restaurant amazing when they were back in the previous venue. It wasnât just their wonderful meals. It was a combination of great food, excellent service, friendly staff, a warm and comfortable atmosphere, and of course, well-priced drinks. Iâm sad to say that none of us at my table wish to return. We will always remember the old restaurant for what it was and hope for positive changes someday in the future. In the meantime, our hunt begins for an alternative place to dine occasionally.
PREVIOUSLY (5 stars for everything): Best restaurant in Beaudesert. Ticks all the boxes. Great food. Excellent service. Addictive cocktails. Beautiful venue. Good vibes. Been there several times and havenât been let down once. Keep up the...
Read moreWell, if this isn't the best up and coming restaurant in the local area! James you are doing a fabulous job! (And of course your lovely partner/wife, sorry can't recall her name).
We have been three times to dine in now, and each time it just exceeds expectations. The first time my steak was wonderful, and we loved the shared Turkish bread starter, but my friend expected a bigger main for the vegetarian stack and my partner was only so-so with her pasta. This was at opening so we passed it on as comments but left feeling hopeful. Our second visit was just my partner and I, we shared the wings and had a burger each and left feeling so full! The food was all delicious and we knew we'd be return visitors for sure. The business changed over to Ned's Stakehouse recently and we have been once. We shared the triple cream brie and then shared the wagyu steak and chicken fajitas (all pictured), we could not be more impressed! All amazing quality, presented beautifully and tasted fresh and tasty, you can tell its been cooked with care and its obviously local produce being used. We have had 2 great experiences after a few teething issues and think you have found your feet and will do very well. My only 2 tiny requests would be change up the salad on the steak (not chopped up but slices and chunks, maybe a dressing) and to add some cranberry sauce or jam to the brie on the side, it would make that dish 12/10, its already a 10 haha! They are in no way complaints though, just suggestions! We love Ned's!!! See...
Read moreReally disappointed this time around. Have had good experiences to date but today was a shocker. Steak ordered medium rare, came out rare. Sandwich ordered with no sauce, came out with sauce. Parmis ordered with no ham, came out with ham. Angry prawn fettuccini was so floury, I couldn't finish the meal. My son's fajita dish he has had multiple times was dry and over-seasoned. First time he hasn't finished it or wanted to take it home. Watched 3 different staff eating chips from a communal silver bowl sitting under the heat lamp, before it was whisked away and used to serve chips, then returned for them to continue eating from it. Mentioned it to staff who immediately dismissed the possibility, despite what a table of numerous adults just witnessed. No apologies made. To top it off, we waited a couple of mins shy of a full hour for the apple crumbles. Table had been cleared and we were sitting waiting. Had to leave as we had somewhere to be and when I went over to ask if I could grab them as they were by that time sitting on the shelf and I said we had to get going, the old lady in the kitchen had a whinge about us being 'in such a rush', which she conveniently did while walking away so I couldn't address it. I hardly think one hour is 'rushing' anyone, unless you're growing the apple tree. All in all, complete let down compared to our...
