Some of the meal was cooked 40 mins prior to the rest. Having 2 people (sharing wings) wait 40 mins after everyone else, when their order was ordered on the same docket is riddiculous. It’s a cold night and all we wanted was a nice dinner together and to support this Pub, but it turned out not a very good experience. Then when questioned what was going on to get no help what so ever is not good enough. All the guys said was everyone was waiting. He didn't wait around to hear what we were saying - that PART of our order was missing, we were still waiting for 1 dish and other people were being served the exact dish we were waiting for. Even the lady in the kitchen yelled at me when I asked how far away order 22 was, she said "it's a 30 min wait" I said "we have been waiting 45 min already!" We had 3 groups on our table 2 ordered together and the 3rd was 5 people down the line. We paid $92 for 2 pizzas and a share plate of chicken wings. 1 dinner came out for 1 group they had waited approx 15 mins and they had ordered first, perfect, the 3rd member of the group got theirs next (they ordered last hmm) they had waited apprx 35mins. Then 1 hour after ordering the 2 pizzas were ready. Another 40 mins later (while waiting in line to get a refund on the wings) the wings were ready!

We don't care about waiting for an order but to have 1 of the 3 items on the docket ready 40 mins after the rest was ridiculous. Of our 7 people 5 had eaten 40 mins before the last 2.

This is the Last time we eat here that's for sure. Mostly due to the staffs...

We arrived and stood in the bar for quie a while, all while 2 people behind the bar were having a private conversation. We felt like we were intruding and they definitely knew we were there. We were also the only ones in the bar and felt like we were an issue they didn't want to deal with. They finally rang a buzzer and a young lady came out to help. She was quite pleasant but didn't really answer our questions about the camping. We found a spot, set up and later on went back for dinner. The menu is limited if there is only 2 of you. They do have a big burger $130 if there are 6 or more of you and can share. Basic pub grub. We had pizza which was ordinary. We asked a question about the merchant shop and the response was "when we aren't taking $150 p/h over the bar then we'll close it" Spoke to another couple who had been a couple of times previously and they said the vibe was off and had enjoyed their stay previously. Not the pubs fault but the camp ground is chopped up with deep ruts to the max. Apparently it's used as a 4wd track when it's wet. Was told by a local the lads get out and use it as a practice venue. Other than that it's a pretty spot on the river and you can fish as well. A few small ones to be had but that's about all. The musician was great and kept us entertained. Overall it's an outback pub and we've been to better. It was...

Unfortunately I was very disappointed intended to stay 2 nights as many of our friends have enjoyed their stays . Went to order dinner in designated area with my friend we waited and waited the very unfriendly bearded man behind the counter is rude and not good for dealing with the public he knew we were there witting to be served but ignored us just kept on serving locals drinks and chatting so we thought maybe we are in the wrong spot to order so went over to him and said do you take food orders here he pointed to where we were waiting before and said 2 works only OVER THERE . H took our order I had to tell him 3 times the meal I wanted and my friend ask for 2 fish meals he went to charge for only one so she had to tell him I ask for 2 then we ask could we get our drinks at this spot he said WHAT DO U WANT VERY FIRM VOICE . He got my order wrong I went to pick it up from the kitchen and explained my order was wrong they said it's the 3 order wrong tonight . So sitting in the outside area waiting for my meal he had the hide to come up to me and say this is what you ordered so I said I know what I ordered he just walked away no apologies . Sitting having a drink we could see him he needs to smile at guests or get rid of him . Staff seemed very STRESSED no smiles from any of them serving people or just...

The place was nice and well-decorated but the service and the food were very bad. It looked like short of staffs and only one nice young male staff at the bar smiled with me. Others appeared grumpy and tired. I ordered a medium steak for lunch but it was overdone, dry, chewy and no charcoal grilled smell or taste at home. It looked like pan-fried to me. No sauce was mentioned when ordered and from my memory and it was served with no sauce at all even basic gravy sauce. I had to come back to order pepper sauce and it was so cold when I dipped my steak in. Basically what they did was put peppercorns in a cold gravy sauce that pre-made from the fridge and I brought it back to the kitchen. They popped it in the microwave and noticed the microwave didn’t work properly and apologised for that. When the sauce was sorted out and my steak got cold. It was the worst steak that I have ever tried around Australia and it wasn’t cheap compared to other places. If you are just come for a drink only, that’s not a bad place but come for a meal, I would not recommended at all or you will waste your money on the bad meals here and absolutely never come back.

So glad we made the effort to go out there.Wow, what a oasis in the middle of nowhere. There is no water or power for campers, but there is very clean toilets and shower and toilets at the pub.It was a little boggy, but they had just had some heavy rain, we still managed to find a dry patch near the toilets. The staff are really friendly, but no Coopers Pale Ale. The food was delicious, we had the truckies steak sandwich, costing $50,but that was between the 2 of us ( it could had fed 3-4 small eaters) .There is a small restaurant inside if cold, but plenty of tables outside. They have music on weekends, plenty of room for kids to run around and a small playground for them to use.

Awesome iconic QLD pub in what feels like the middle of nowhere. Red dirt and the Moonie river surround this classic corrugated iron building with large verandas. A very large green lawn and well shaded beer garden to one side. Plenty of history and quirky memorabilia to look at on the walls. Happy hour and cold beer, blue skies and warm sunshine, that's QLD. Apparently used as a set on the 90s movie, paperback hero with a young Hugh Jackman. Stayed in the free camp area. Which has excellent toilets and a dump point. Plenty of space for all. Well worth the stay here if you are in this part of QLD, well worth it! Would be a great winter stay for a few days at least.
