Purple Pub Brolga Palms Motel — Restaurant in Queensland

We stayed in Normanton just so that we were there for early departure of the Gulflander. The Purple Pub just looked cool so that's where we stayed. ||||The rooms weren't in the pub building, they're in the Brolga Palms Motel that's out behind the pub. They are pretty ordinary. Not sure if other rooms have fans that aren't just on turbo or nothing, or have an aircon that is quieter than a cessna taking off. Maybe that was just our room. It was quiet other than that and had a fridge, jug, tea and coffee. bed was ok, shower good. Pool was in the back of the pub and it was cool and clean. ||||Young guy behind the bar was friendly and attentive. Had dinner and it was ok. I had a well cooked steak and partner had an ok pizza.||||People complain about rudeness but we didn't see any of that. We don't go to somewhere as isolated as Normanton and expect beer selections like in Cairns or a capital city. The pub is a quirky pub and the rooms...

RUDE RUDE RUDE

DISGRACE TO TOURISM. Traveling with 2 young children and a dog. We were put in the smokers area near broken glass tube lights. Male Chef told us that we couldn’t sit in smoking area while eating so we moved to non smoking outdoor area Where we saw another couple with a dog so thought it would be ok! After ordering our meal we were rudely told by a woman (no lady) to move back to the smoking area. While another woman who worked there too was walking her dog and cat through the pub and the area we couldn’t sit in. Then saw the same dog inside the air conditioned eating area with other guests, While the woman was cutting a pizza.
