River Heads Cafe and Take Away — Restaurant in Queensland

Ordered an iced coconut latte, coffee was the last thing to come to the table and it was disgustingly sweet, I even ordered it with an extra shot of coffee but it was completely undrinkable. I took it to the counter and they seemed quite busy so asked if they could put more milk in it to dilute the sweetness instead of remaking it completely but the blonde waitress told me she would have to charge me for more milk! Left the untouched drink on the counter. That’s terrible customer service. Won’t be back and certainly do not recommend their coffee unless you like drinking a cup of straight sugar.

You can clearly see I wrote ‘iced coconut latte’ in my original review. I have been drinking oat milk and having coffee syrup in my coffees for 10+ years, this was disgusting. You need to train your staff not to dump half the bottle of syrup into your drinks. My mouth literally went numb from all the sugar in it. The coffee was left full on the table no one in my group could drink it and we hate not only wasting food but wasting $9. Obviously I wouldn’t have left a full drink that cost $9 behind if it was somewhat palatable or bothered to leave a review. Your response to mine and other reviews is childish and arrogant for a business owner, staff make mistakes but you need to be willing to take feedback and use it to train your staff to be better. Tried to buy coffee, and they were expensive enough, but then they added a sir charge even though I was paying by cash! It's illegal. The nerve of this place. Keep your stupid coffee I could care less. (Edit because I have no right of reply, what the owner has claimed in the response is false, the waitress clearly told me that any transaction under ten dollars gets a surcharge, cash or EFTPOS, that is illegal, and what the owner is saying below in the response does not reflect what happened, they are rip off merchants and liars that rather than take some advice from what should be valued customers, they like to get into arguments with them in the reviews and tell lies about situations where they are doing illegal things. Fair trading was called by the way so take your medicine like a grown up. Was it worth upsetting a hundred people a day for 28 dollars? I've never known the pleasure of frequenting a local Cafe before River Heads Cafe but I'm so glad they are a big part of my life. Their food is always delicious and fresh and served almost like magic just when you've stopped being enthralled with the view and friendly local conversations, if you're that way inclined. The staff are beautiful and friendly and never rush you and the prices they charge don't reflect their dedication or the extensive, delicious menu made exactly how you prefer. You can also buy original art, beautifully made cards, magnificent prints all from local artisans.
