Sandy Creek Pub — Restaurant in Queensland

well after 4 hrs on the road we headed for the sandy creek hotel as we heard you can also free camp, beside the pub,and enjoy some real home cooked meals at a reasonal price and lots of it,they have meals on FRI and SAt nights and Sun Lunch, I'm so glad we did,where we parked our van in the paddock it had been mowed the day before and it was nice and flat and plenty of room ,and it is also beside a go-cart track so we enjoyed washing the carts go around, the pub itself is a warm friendly country ,we were greeted warmly by the locals ,and gary, when we went for a afternoon drink, we also enjoyed a wonderful meal, you can use the toilet, and it just costs $3.00 for a lovely hot shower,, for a pair of traveling strangers just passing through, ,we felt like part of the family by Sat as we enjoyed the old style country hospitality, when we hit the road again going south we will sure be stopping...

The experience was absolutely appalling. We waited two hours for our food, only for it to arrive in a disgusting state. Out of the three meals we ordered, two were overcooked and burnt, while the third was completely raw—an unacceptable level of quality for any establishment, let alone an “iconic Australian pub.”

To make matters worse, the cook was drinking beer while preparing meals, and the manager didn’t even have the decency to address the situation. They were fully aware of how long we waited and the poor quality of the food, yet chose to ignore the issue.

This level of service and food quality is beyond disappointing. I wouldn’t recommend this place to anyone. Avoid it at all costs! On the bright side the...
