I would give nil star but had to click on one a least. Ordered 12 prawn cutlets that turned out to be extremely small. When we took the prawns back to show them to staff my daughter was told that I was only charged a dollar a prawn because of the size of the prawns. When my daughter asked for the docket with the price paid it took ages for staff to produce the docket and my daughter was told before handing over the docket that she insisted on waiting for that the prawns were $2.50 each. When my daughter asked why she was told by the staff I was only charged a $1.00 a prawn because of the size prior to handing the docket over she was told that the price had gone up just prior to the order. When my daughter asked if anyone told me about the reduced size of the prawns when I was ordering, staff said that I should have asked the size of the prawns because they aren't mind readers and it was up to the customer to ask this type of question if they wanted to know if the prawns were extremely small. They told my daughter that they were the only size prawns they had and that they had given three or four extra prawns to make up for the size. They gave us two extra but we are talking about extremely small prawns. The size you would never order. About the quarter of a normal size prawn cutlet and without tails on most of them. It looked like the prawn had been broken up. I do not complain about food even when sometimes I have not been happy but this was much more than that type of situation. One staff wanted to credit me with the charge but that will not prevent it from happening to others. I will never go back but I prefer to warn others so it does not happen to them. Picture shows prawn next to...

My wife and I ordered 2 Red Emperor fish battered, potato scallops and one measly serve of chips. The battered fish and potato scallops were cooked very well and better than average flavour and hot as one would expect. Unfortunately that’s where it ended. The chips were soggy (not crispy at all) and “cold”. What made it even worse was the fact that I specifically ask for “crispy” chips and the lady wrote it down on our order as well. The chips are obviously fried in advance and kept in a bay marie. There was a stunning difference in temperature between the fish/potato scallops and the soggy chips and it showed. We have had better Oven fries and they are never as good as cooked to order chips normally. The soggy cold chips took away from the enjoyment of the rest of the meal. Unfortunately we know what good chips should be like and it didn’t happen this time. I keep saying, how hard can it be to deep fry crispy chips, you only have one ingredient! This was at approx. 2:30pm on the 15/8/20. Hoping your...

We had a great experience at the Snack Shack in Tin Can Bay during our visit! One of the standout features is that it’s open every day, which was a real bonus, especially since many other places close early or are closed all day on Sundays. The menu has a solid variety of options, including fish and chips, burgers, pizza, salads, and plenty of classic takeaway items. The staff were incredibly friendly, adding a nice touch to the overall experience.

While it’s not the cheapest option, the prices felt fair for the quality of the food. There’s ample seating on-site, and across the road, there’s a lovely park with benches and tables where you can sit and enjoy the peaceful views over the water. It does get quite busy, which is always a good sign, It also might be nice to see a few more healthy options on the menu. Grilled not fried items.

Overall, I had a very positive experience at the Snack Shack, and I’d definitely recommend it for take away or a casual, delicious meal in...

A really long wait time (35 mins)! I find the chips here have always been 'dry' the fish pieces have always been good quality with good batter. A specialty item I have previously ordered from here, battered mussels, has tripled in price and at least halved in size! I was told because they use 'premium' mussels now, which would suggest hand opened fresh from the ocean, but looking at the finished product it was obviously not! LIAR! very disappointing but not surprising.. see picture of tiny battered mussel ..😡👎

20 March 2024 and i not only got another great meal but mostly recyclable packaging, knife and falk. Great work Snack Shack ....................previous review - As usuall we had Red Emperor and salad and as usuall it was not only great food but a little too much to eat. Love what you do Snack Shack, the only thing I would like to see is less packaging. Cardboard containers and the option for reusable cutlery.
