I understand we have just been thru the worst disaster Townsville has ever seen but it is no excuse for the poor quality of food that we have received yet again @ this establishment. We have had horrible experiences in the past with this pub but thought we'd give them a chance yet again tonight but again we have been disappointed! I understood that there was going to be a 30-40 min wait for dinner (not an hour). I ordered the chicken caesar wrap & I expected caesar dressing on it so that it's not dry, this was not the case & I had to ask for a side of caesar dressing to make the meal edible. What I didn't expect was to have to ask for a salt shaker & find that the inside of the cap was full of rust & have a mixture of brown & white salt fall onto my meal. We were told to speak to the manager, which we did but it seems that bad feedback is not warranted by him. We were given the same excuse (we were told this months ago when we last ate there) that they've had trouble with their chefs. We definitely were not the only people disappointed tonight, as another couple sitting near us had been waiting for nearly 1.5hrs for their meal & when it came out, it wasn't what they had ordered. This couple had been helping out people all day, cleaning up from our Townsville floods & all they wanted was a decent meal. Apparently we've now been banned from this establishment for speaking up, but no loss to us, as there is plenty of other establishments near us that we're happy to spend...
Read moreWorst meal experience in a long time. Chicken Kiev was a chicken schnitzel with the last 2 bites with any hint of garlic butter that had been placed inside. The kiev arrived on some really average chips. No colour, no attempt at making anything presentable. Creamy garlic sauce was below par at best. Tempura pickle chips sounded great but was all batter. The avocado dip that came with them was out of a bottle. The food took a loooooong time to arrive and there was only about 5 tables with people on. The tables weren't wiped down. One person was asked to wipe them down but never come to do it. The beer on tap wasn't working at all. Something to do with where the kegs were was too warm and was making the beer foamy. So had to buy bottles that were $8 a stubbie. The meat tray people come round to sell tickets for each meat tray rather than like other pubs where you buy tickets for a few meat tray draws. The numbers are not played outside at all. So good luck finding out if you won. Though they are happy to sell to those punters outside. And this was a slow Saturday lunchtime. May I suggest McDonalds for a better priced rip off if you're up for it. Now where is the negative...
Read moreThis is a great local pub with a family atmosphere but with the ability to step up for events like today's Horn vs Pacquiao fight. Toilets were clean and freshened regularly. Would recommend doing a restroom entrance redesign so no door handles to have to be touched. Food is great, excellent value for money. The pork belly, the calamari, the burgers, the parmi, our table of 25 people had a good spread of meals and they all looked great. Food service did take nearly an hour though but it was worth it. There were only two very hard working wait staff in the floor who were attentive even though it was very busy. Nice to see the owner in the pub and talking to patrons. Love the kids area with the camera in the big screen so you can...
