Difficult place to review. It has a nice setting overall but the dining room is basically like a noisy school cafeteria with wobbly tables and plastic chairs, it adjoins the bar so a few noisy blokes and a game of pool ruined any chance of atmosphere. I had the coral trout, the fish was great but was served with the WORST vegetables I have EVER been served, including from the mother in law... Horrible grey, over-cooked cauliflower and dreadful over-salted sweet potato mush. I commented on this to the waitress and she was totally uninterested in the feedback. Someone in the kitchen can't cook and doesn't care about quality. My wife had steak, it looked OK (medium rare) but was bloody (poorly aged) and tough and the vegetables were raw! Another thing, the path up to the restaurant is poorly signed and poorly lit (take a torch), getting out is tricky too, there's a cryptic gate with a hidden push button. I suspect that the chef left a few months back and the barman took over the cooking. Disregard food reviews before about April 2022. Since then they are all poor.

Perfectly cooked rib fillet steak and fresh vegetables. Very reasonably priced at time of publishing the review this was the most expensive dish at $32. You can see why there's a smile. Quick and friendly service too.

We went up the garden path, through the darkness and finally found where to go. The service was great and friendly and we ordered our food. That's where it all ended. The worst table of meals ever presented to a family of four. 1. Zucchini slice was flourish and bland tasting - Terrible. 2. Chicken parma - tough, bland, awful meal. 3. Kids chicken wings were tasteless and looked like Bush Turkey wings that were tough. 4. Veg Dumplings that were bland plastic tasting terrible objects. The sweet potato wedges were good. Our salad sides were bitter, and the dressing tasted like it was twenty years out of date. Sad really as the staff were friendly. We left heading down the garden path and spent the next ten minutes trying to get out of the place. Doors were locked, gates were locked. It was like an escape room experience. Finally to some it all up the chef can't cook and should be fired. Ps we are all suffered bad stomach aches and pains. Sorry to be honest, but it's...

Sadly, this was overall a reflection of truly limited menu options, a tired and unwelcoming atmosphere decked out with plastic tables and, despite the commendable positive approach of the two service and bar staff, couldn't in any way match our hopes. As we consumed our meals, one group arrived then left before ordering and another much larger group arrived, viewed the menu, then without any need for discussion left the venue. As for my steak, there is clearly misunderstanding as to what constitutes rare-to-medium steak. It arrived without any colour or juice, overdone to the max. As for my partner's garlic prawn dish, uninspiring and bland. Having said this, a little imagination goes a long way and there is certainly room to fine tune what's occurring in the kitchen. I suspect we shan't...
