Vintage Kiss — Restaurant in Queensland

We came to look at the Melba House on our way from Eungella (house doesn't close til 3) & realised this cafe is onsite. We were lucky to just scrape in a few minutes before the cafe's 12:30 close. The friendly waitress was clearing away but kindly allowed us to order a milkshake and cake each to takeaway. Sticky date cake & melting moment, both delish, very nice shakes too. Looks like nice areas to eat, lots of tables outside. As they had just closed, we sat in the shady nearby picnic/bbq area, good toilets, river views, realised we could have walked down to the riverside. Then looked round the house. Definitely worth stopping for the cafe, whether you look round the house or not. Just check cafe opening times - seems more of a brekky/brunch/early...

Hubby and I took our beagle for a puppachino and also grabbed ourselves some brekky.

I got the mushrooms and hubby got the eggs Benny. SO MANY DELICIOUS MUSHROOMS 🤤🤤 put ourselves in food coma for the rest of the morning! Worth it though.

Coffees were also amazing of course! We got cappuccinos and I went back for an iced long black.

If you’re looking for a tourist drive and good food, go up to Marian, Mackay. You’ll find Vintage Kiss in Melba House. The best Eggs Benny and Smashed Avo we’ve ever tried yet so far. Scones are freshly baked, with a feel of sweet homemade jam and cream. They’ve got a range of food you can choose from. Price is not as expensive as you would’ve expected since it is out of town.
