The Farmhouse Breakfast
Pasture-raised bacon and our house sausage, served with two free-range fried eggs, roasted pumpkin, grilled tomato, sautΓ©ed spinach and mushrooms, house-baked beans and rustic toast. Our pork comes from heritage-breed pigs raised on pasture at our family farm, and our pumpkins are heirloom varieties we grow. Pairs with mocktail "sunrise in the garden" β€” a bright citrus lift to balance the hearty bacon, sausage, and roasted pumpkin.
Paddock Benedict
House-baked rustic toast topped with free-range poached eggs, house-cured ham, butter sautΓ©ed farm greens, and herb-infused hollandaiseβ€”finished with our homegrown microgreens. Housemade ham from our heritage pasture-raised pork, smoked on-site. Herbs and microgreens grown in our spray-free kingaroy gardens. Pairs with "elderflower grove" β€” the light, floral tones of elderflower and mint cut through the richness of hollandaise and ham.
Smashed Avocado
Smashed avocado on house-baked rustic toast, layered with roasted heirloom beetroot, poached eggs, whipped feta, and a drizzle of lemon oil. Finished with house-roasted citrus dukkah. Beetroots are heirloom varieties grown on our family farm. Avocados are spray-free and grown in kingaroy. Pairs with mocktail "garden rose lemonade" β€” the floral and citrusy notes of this lemonade play beautifully with earthy beetroot and creamy goat cheese.
Dutch Baby Pancake
Oven-baked dutch baby pancake served golden and puffed in cast iron, topped with mulberry compot, whipped lemon vanilla cream, toasted almonds, and a drizzle of honey. Mulberries hand-picked from local trees. Local honey harvested from nearby hives. Pairs with "mulberry sun" β€” with matching mulberry compote and syrup, a natural pairing.
Passionfruit & Mango
100% fruit blended with ice

The place is cute. Owners have done a great job there. We were a bit disappointed though. Having had a small deli cafe of my own in the past. Apparently I have higher expectations than most people. Reading these previous reviews, that is obvious. Ae arrives at 9:00 for our reservatiin. The place had only four full tables. Two cars arrived after us. They offer a very limited breakfast menu. I think only five selections. No kids menu and they apparently charge you for for sharing plats of food. Its a very POOR menu at that. No listing of coffees, juice or sides available. When I went o place our order, I asked about "what selection of juices they had"? She looked at me with a blank stare like a stunned mullet. Two choices, orange or apple. Wow, two choices and apparently a trick question for this young lady. I had ask if I could add a hashbrown because no idea of add ons. Should have SKIPPED that hashbrown as it was cold and barely could cut it. It requires no special talent to grate a potato and fry . I had eggs benedict. The bacon was tastey but under cooked and very fatty. The bread on which the poached eggs sat was so tough unable to cut not able to chew. My husband had the hot pot, which he descdibed as a " dried out stew". We waited forty five minutes for our food and it was not hot. The people that were there before us finished and left. Leaving three tables full or dirty dishes and uneaten food. This place was NOT busy and plently of staff standing around no one cleaning the tables. It was like this for more then the duration of our meal. So unimpressed. Perhaps their idea is to leave the tables dirty to appear BUSY. 64.00, two breakfast, one coffee, one orange juice. Over priced and highly over rated. Will...

Drove 3 hours to visit Whipbird and it was worth every minute! This business is proof that, even tucked away down a little dirt road, people will come if it's worth the effort.

The venue itself, a renovated old church, is warm, inviting, spacious and tastefully decorated. Even full of diners, it didn't feel cramped or overly noisy.

The staff were lovely and catered to our needs with smiles and charm. Nothing was a problem and they were friendly and attentive throughout.

As for the food, it was fantastic. My potato rosti (from the all-day breakfast menu) was perfectly prepared; crispy and flavoursome, on a bed of bacon, rocket and chutney, topped with a textbook poached egg and thick, creamy Hollandaise.

My wife's Leek & Thyme Chicken, served in a cast iron pot, was even better than my own selection. It was a rich and delectable creation, with the chicken thighs incredibly moist and tender. It was so good that we requested some bread to mop up the leftover sauce!

We followed lunch with some impressive desserts (sticky date pudding & affogatto pudding), and a cuppa (flat white much enjoyed, and a more generic, least exciting choice of the day, Chai latte).

In summary, Whipbird provided an experience we regularly seek but rarely find. The venue, food and service were all 5-star. And yes, in agreement with some other reviewers, the prices are on the higher side. Nevertheless, in this case the adage 'you get what you pay for' rings true and, for us, it was money...

This was a nice find. Spending the weekend in the Bunyas and decided to go for a drive to Kingaroy for brekky. Found this gem outside town in Coolabunia. It had a good Google rating and was away from other venues, always worth investigating. The menu was simple with the usual favourites. However, a number of the ingredients to a great meal are made in house. The pork and fennel sausage is amazing, so too the bacon they use. The house made chutney is delicious πŸ˜‹ The venue itself has indoor and outdoor dining. Very comfortable. A little shop where you can purchase items to take home, including flowers πŸ’ The only thing I would change is the coffee. I don’t like the brand they are using (Maleny, so Maleny coffee), there is so many fabulous roasters in Australia now, my current favourite being Botero ❀️ Absolutely amazing staff, so friendly and helpful. A good vibe humming...

Came here the other day for dinner. It is located at a very quiet place. It's a nice place that gives you a fine dining feel. Had a steak which was perfectly done. Just wish that there were some more options in the menu, specially some seafood options. Nevertheless the steaks we ordered were awesome. Fruit drink was also good, not too sweet and very natural in taste. For dessert we had a cheescake and that too was good. The place is a bit pricey but worth it once in a while.
