We camped here again over the long weekend, absolutely love this place. Great place to camp that has everything. Close to the beach. The site has great facilities, (some) of the staff are really friendly & helpful, Bill, who drives the courtesy bus is a gem. The food however really seems to have gone downhill, we ordered 2 lots of ribs & they weren't up to the old standard. The portion was large but the quality wasn't great, they were tough & chewy, certainly not tender & falling off the bone as they used to be. The Chicken Parmy too wasn't great for the price. The sauce was dried up & non exiistant & cheese on top was burnt & I got 16 chips with it. The side salad was good though, the meat lovers Pizza is bang average, just loads of shredded ham really & is nit worth the $29 it cost. . . . . The killer though is the price of cocktails, this is a complete lottery, for example, order a Long Island Ice Tea & it all depends if they will make it, whether they can make it, what they will charge, the price is dependant on who makes / charges you. I ordered 3, one after the other & was charged 3 different prices. One fella charged for each individual nip of alcohol when making the cocktail, making it $35 for a cocktail served in a pot glass! Now, I''ve ordered a Long Island Island Ice Tea in fancy cocktail bars all around the world & I've had it served in fancy glasses but I've never been charged $35 for a single cocktail. I was at the hotel whilst attending a private party on Friday evening. Early in the evening there were multiple staff serving behind the bar in the lounge , the two younger ladies were wonderful. Later in the evening however, the attitude of the bar staff was nothing short of appalling, they were more interested in staff drinks than serving the party guests, they couldn’t wait to close us out in order to enjoy their gathering in the main bar !! Smart Alec comments from the young man behind the bar only added to my disdain! I took the time to mention his attitude to the person I assumed was the duty manager, only to be told, she had never had anyone complain about him before!! Wrong answer!! When you have a customer mention to you that a staff member is below par, you take it on board graciously, you do not throw it back in the customers face!! Having managed many hospitality businesses, including hotels, and aside from the two young ladies as mentioned , I would not employ one of the staff from that evening in any establishment ever....

Went for lunch but was disappointed, it took close to 40min to get our meal (I think it was forgotten about)we ordered half rack slow cooked pork ribs and little nippers fish and chips. The pork ribs came out almost dried out and looked as they had been left sitting under the heat lamp too long, the sauce was baked onto the ribs. The coleslaw was dry and unappetizing, the chip were very tasty though. I'm glad I only bought half a rack for which I payed $22.90, (pretty pricey for what it was) cause a full rack is nearly $40. With little nippers fish and chips, there was more batter than fish, not very nice at all. Wedges we had looked over cooked as well. Best thing was that the outdoor area is pet friendly. We had a chance to revisit the pub and things were so much better the second time around. Good food and friendly staff. Called in for lunch again on 2nd June 2022, had a great meal. The courtesy bus picked us up from the Caravan park(and we could take our fur baby on the bus). Had a huge feed of Ribs and a massive...

Sorry, these are half eaten food pics ! Why ?Food was delicious !! Seafood basket was very nice with what tasted like fresh seafood. Lovely battered fish. The salad was nice and chips were good too. Could hardly finish it. Pizza could have a few more minutes to brown but was a busy day. The cocktails were very nice and reasonably priced. The water could be seen from the top level and was so blue and topped off a great lunch. The Bali style outdoor area was inviting and was impressed with the outdoor big screen and games for patrons to enjoy on the front lawn. The staff were friendly and attentive. Can't complain about anything. Well done Woodgate ! No wonder this little gem of a place is growing.
