Don’t rely on their shuttle bus service. It’s a lie. Our friends though it would be nice to watch the Sun set at Yorkeys Knob, then go for dinner at the Boating Club. This was all based on the Boating Club offering a free shuttle bus if we booked for more than 6 people. We booked the bus for a 5:15 pick up from Palm Cove. We confirmed the bus was coming at 5:00 with the Boating Club. At 5:30 still no bus, so we called the Boating Club, and apparently the bus was full from Palm Cove, so they would need to send another bus for us that would be there in another 15 minutes. With 6:00 fast approaching we had missed the sun set so our original reason for going to the boat club to see the sun set was gone. We ended up organizing a taxi as we were meeting another family at the club. We had a nice meal at the club with friendly staff. When it came to going home at 8:00 we tried to book a bus home only to be told the last shuttle bus had already left the club and we would need to find our own way home. The receptionist of the club was very rude when we enquired how to get home, simply telling us that’s the way it is, and the bus driver wasn’t coming back. So another taxi back to Palm Cove. The false advertising of a free shuttle is terrible. Very disappointing experience for our last night of the holiday. Don’t rely on their shuttle bus service. It’s a lie. Only one star because I can’t give zero stars. Wow, your response is very passive aggressive, which just reinforces our issue with your service. Your response still doesn’t not recognise we were in contact with your service for pick up, and lied to us that we were to be picked up on time. Also, if your receptionist was just trying to do her job, perhaps she should try and be a bit more understanding after we explained our experience with your bus service. Service and response to our review completely lacks any empathy. A simple apology would have been appreciated.

Unfortunately today they get only one star. We came here for lunch with some friends, we ordered our meals, we did ours first, then them. Their meals came out, looking hot, fresh and delicious. We waited for ours, and waited and waited, eventually we asked the waiter, who said he will check, then came back and said they missed our order and are now heating up the cooker, yet all these meals were coming out for other patrons, meals that we ordered, so we waited some more and asked again, same response, they're heating up the cooker. We asked to speak to the manager, they were nowhere to be found, so we asked for our money back. No apology, no nothing. Had to buy a packet of chips then to eat with my beer for my lunch. We were very disappointed, it's not like it's the first time we've been there, we're not tourists, we're locals, and locals talk.

A premium restaurant with a great selection of local food and drinks and their open from 10.00am to 10.00pm Tuesday to Sunday. Food was tasty, juicy, and delicious and generous in size and very reasonably priced. Try the bruschetta or chicken liver parfait for entree, and the Tokyo salad with tiger prawns and rice noodles with miso or the Tasmanian oysters for mains for an out of this World dining experience. Everything was fresh and crispy and served quickly, and the staff were friendly and professional too. Seating was very comfortable for couples or families and the restaurant was very clean, and the outdoor covered dining area has great sea views and overlooking the marina. Very Highly recommended 👏👍😊

Really looked forward to a night out for dinner, started so well with a table on the deck over looking the marina and so many delicious choices on the menu.

Starters were great chicken liver parfait is really very good, as were the scallops.

Utterly disappointing when our mains arrived while everyone was still enjoying our first course, I cannot understand why you would try to serve main dishes when you can clearly see still on first course and basically no room on the table to pop the plates down!!!

When mains were re-delivered, my plate of mussels were cold, and I returned them as I wanted freshly cooked hot mussels in the “cooked the French way” as described.

Our friend dining with us, said his dish was ordinary and didn’t eat that much of it, my husband thought the was steak was ok, but clearly had been reheated after having to wait that extra time before being re-served.

When the mussels came out for the third time, I hoped and prayed they were a freshly cooked batch, though I have my doubts.

Dissatisfied and disappointed was what felt, the mussels inside the shells were no bigger than my thumb nail, which my immediate thought was, these things would be illegal size in New Zealand!!!!!

I’ve come to expect smaller than average mussels eating in countries other than at home, but these mussels were ridiculously small.

The promised “French way” of how this plate of mussels were presented was dismal, there was no steaming freshly cooked mussels drowning in the delicious French creamy sauce full of herbs and tastiness, but a bowl of mussels in shells that looked tired and literally no sauce to speak of, an utterly disappointing meal.

I’d probably recommend people to go to the boat club to check it out, as it’s a great location, but if you order the mussels I hope that they’ll have upped their game on this particular dish.

Please just as common courtesy don’t try to deliver mains before first course is finished then keep that food “warm” while you wait to re-deliver, it ruins the mains that we now have to eat, and if shellfish is involved well that dish really is essential to be cooked and...

Dined at Boaties tonight and received some of the lowest customer service I’ve ever experienced anywhere. I dined with 5 other friends. We all ordered our meals at approximately 7pm. At approximately 720pm I staff member came over to our table and told me the meal I’d ordered from the specials board was no longer available and that I’d need to go get a refund and order another meal which would come out later after my friend’s meals. I visited the cashier and got my refund then proceeded to order the sirloin which came with a salad as stated on the menu very clearly. The young girl serving me advised that the salad would be an additional charge. I showed her on the menu where it most definitely stated it was included and then was met with a defensive and very arrogant comment from another older male staff member with a beard assisting with refunds “the salad is extra cost!”. By that stage I gave up and decided not to bother ordering another meal. If staff cannot read their own menu, I’m uncertain how their kitchen must be functioning. The icing on the cake was when my friend’s steak arrived with (you guessed it) a side salad as stated on the menu! I then asked the man who had insisted I pay extra to come over to the table and please explain. He insisted on arguing with us about what we did and didn’t order and stormed off. No apology. No offer to compensate. The only staff member who took the time to check up on us was Raz, the bar man who apologised on everyone’s behalf when in fact the apology should’ve come from the staff members who were incredibly rude. Customer service is not about being perfect. Mistakes happen, we are all human. But it’s how these mistakes get rectified that make all the difference to the experience. No one in our group of 6 will ever...
