Guthridge Parade Fish & Chips — Restaurant in Sale

I really wish this fish and chip shop was consistent. Sometimes it ia amazing, yummy chips, fresh fish with crispy batter, yummy hamburgers and sometimes the chips aren't cooked properly, oil not hot enough so chips not crunchy but kinda soft and floppy, fish definately not freshly battered because it's like it's recooked, batter not crisp. I think the oil is not hot enough sometimes or old and chips arent cooked enough. I want to have another yummy hamburger but cant trust it will be that this time. Either way it's hit and miss. It makes me want to give up because its not a cheap meal anymore fish and chips, and it's really dissappointing when the meal is not up to scratch. Please get this sorted and you would be 5 star.

Ok I am editing this review in response to the owners comment on my feedback. I thought I was giving constructive feedback. I wasn't rude or derogatory, I simply highlighted my experience. The battered Flake was disgusting. I can not understand how this fish was destroyed and why the attendant allowed it to be given to myself. I ordered 3 Flake and when I got home 5 minutes later the fish had stuck to each other. It looked flat and oily. I do not know whether the oil was cold or really old. All three of up were disgusted. I work in the food industry and I would never have given that to my worst enemy. Had we seen it before it was wrapped I would have refused to take it.

No stars for this shop because they still served it. As a food safety supervisor I have standards. Perhaps they need a refresher course and training what is acceptable. The cat would not...

The burger pattie was burnt again. This is the second time this has happened and the cook should be aware of what they are preparing and presenting to the customer. The food is usually ok but in this instance a review is deserved.

The batter was also not cooked as well as it could be. Maybe its to thick and needs to be modified. I will consider another visit but as this place is better than the competitors.
