Unfortunately the meals are not worth the prices here. Recently stopped by to grab some lunch at the The Juke Restaurant (located inside the Royal Hotel). Orders can’t be taken at the bar however you can eat them in there which was a bit confusing. Additionally the wine barrel tables are way too high to eat from so your main choices are in the small dining room (which was completely booked out with one large family) or outside in the cold. We chose outside which was uncomfortable but not as uncomfortable as seeing elderly patrons trying to eat at the wine barrel tables later on. We ordered the Lamb Cutlets and the Steak Sandwich. While ordering I was asked how I wanted to the lamb cooked - I said medium - but the lamb that was served was extremely over cooked to the point of almost being inedible. The steak sandwich was better but both were not worth the prices. That said, we are extremely understanding of businesses trying to get back on top after COVID lockdowns etc but paying this much for substandard food is not good. The plus point was the staff, who were really friendly so that’s why I gave an extra star. Sorry to say, we...
Read moreWe were driving by and had to make a dinner stop on a Saturday night. It was busy at the pub area, they were closed on the restaurant area. The owner who took our order was not very friendly and after paying he said, “Food will come out 45 mins to 1 hour since we are so busy. You have nowhere to go anyway.” Umm he should have said that before we order and pay? You cant assume people have nowhere to go. We actually do and could have just bought takeaway from bakery at the front. Lucky the foods actually came out earlier than what they said, maybe about 25 mins. Then surprisingly the same guy came around the tables and had a friendly chat with us. Not sure why at the beginning he wasnt as friendly. The food was nice, especially fish and chips with amazing home made tartare sauce. My steak was cooked well, although I expected the mushroom sauce to be tastier. Overall a good dinner, but I was worried at the beginning with the...

"No time to explain, just get the peach custard tart!"
we had to see for ourselves. We were greeted by a lovely young man who seated us in a surprisingly beautiful dining room of The Royal Hotel. The menu was not large but what was on offer was all very appealing. Couldn't go past the crumbed cutlets. They did not disappoint. THREE cutlets cooked to perfection and served with chips and steamed vegetables. Was such an enjoyable meal, we went back the next night. This time we had the gnocci with pumpkin. Oh my! Could this get any better? YES! We got that Peach Custard Tart Ken!!
Ezra you and your welcoming and friendly staff are the biggest asset to that little town. It was an absolute pleasure to dine at your restaurant and we highly recommend The Juke if you ever...
