We came here specifically for their veggie / vegan friendly menu and seemingly positive reviews.I don't know who wrote these reviews though, as our experience was a far cry from anything we read.Sadly, both veggie lunches were inedible and completely unlike their seemingly appealing descriptions on the menu. The pumpkin schnitzel was undercooked and hard in the middle, chips cooked in cheap tasting oil, and the worst culprit was the 'cauliflower stew in creamy avocado sauce', which was actually just a tiny portion of plain steamed veg in a ramekin with whole chunks of avocado for $20.We wasted well over an hour (on a relatively quiet sunday) for this 'pleasure', and had to return both meals, leaving two people hungry. Starters were not much better so we shouldn't have been surprised. To be fair to the restaurant - the meat pasta was fine, although both burgers were edible but sub standard. They did give us a bottle of wine to say sorry and honoured our refund request on the veggie dinners, which is a polite gesture but doesn't get back our valuable time on a precious weekend away. Unfortunately, it also meant we missed out on the many other amazing offerings in the area. Save your time, money and stomachs and visit one of those other...
Read moreThe Eden Valley Hotel is an absolute standout in the Adelaide Hills! This charming country pub offers fantastic food, friendly service, and a warm, welcoming atmosphere. Every meal is fresh, hearty, and full of flavour — but the real star has to be their chips, which are hands-down the best in the Adelaide Hills! Perfectly golden, crispy on the outside, and fluffy on the inside — they’re seriously addictive.
The staff are always lovely and make you feel right at home, whether you’re there for a casual lunch, a family dinner, or a drink with friends. The setting is beautiful and peaceful, surrounded by that classic hills charm.
If you’re in the area, do yourself a favour and stop by the Eden Valley Hotel — amazing food, great people, and the best chips you’ll...
Read moreWe went to suss out the renovations that the new owners have been doing to the Eden Valley Hotel & were absolutely blown away & can't wait to go back. They are transforming it into a BEAUTIFUL, historic building that is absolutely STUNNING!!!! The meals were absolutely delicious, & a good fair price, very country & rustic, but obviously chef quality. The drinks, whilst limited, were still a fantastic selection of local produce, & some of which we had no idea even existed in our backyard, & were so easy to drink. We thoroughly enjoyed our entire experience. The new owners definitely worthy to have the locals support them, as well as a beautiful destination worth the drive for non locals!!!! We can't wait...
