Worst experience ever. Arrogant rude publican. Arrived Friday night to filthy dirty soiled bed sheets and cover. Was offered the room next door. Had to check it was clean ourself. Then sat back relaxed ready for a shower to then discover no hot water. Back to the publican who problem solved, then offered a free beer for the stuff around. When we decided two days later to have that beer in the front bar. We were greeted by the publican with. "What are you doing?" Very strange way to greet your paying guests. We found Jules the bar lady very friendly and chatty as for the publican nothing nice can be said. Paid top dollar for drinks and no free beer as offered. Pity I had not read previous reviews, as I wouldn't have put a bid in to start with on Holiday actions.. Regards Di Ps. Arno Bay is a wonderful beautiful spot, well...

I only put one star because of the lovely lady who was nice the publican is the most arrogant, rudest person I have ever met, initially on booking he said they were booked out and very rude so I asked my husband to book the next day and everything was fine and he had the same person, staying there we had one beer and a small gin and tonic and he charged us $27 which we questioned and he was rude and printed a receipt, it wasn’t until we read another google review afterwards which stated he bumps up the price to tourists in front of locals at the bar to get a laugh, well we get the last laugh because we decided to not spend any money on food or drinks for the remainder of our stay and would prefer to travel to Cowell or port Neil with lovely, friendly staff, so unfortunate that they have people like this represent...

We came with high expectations after reading the reviews... but unfortunately we left a little disappointed. The staff were lovely, and don't get us wrong, the menu reads really well for a regional pub. But the proof is the pudding!! My husband ordered the mixed grill... costing $48. What he recieved was 2 small cheap lamb cuts, a few cold chips a salad (that i stole), half a grilled tomatoe, an egg and chipolata sausage. Very underwhelming and certainly not a mixed grill worth $48. I ordered the squid schnitzel. It was huge, and very tasty... but served luke warm and served with pasta. No chips or salad.. hence me knicking my husbands salad. We're not normally the ones that write reviews.. let alone negative ones, but left so underwhelmed that we felt compelled to say how it...

All of the food that we ordered were divine. My mum enjoyed her battered fish and chips. For me, I had chicken Caesar salad and it was by far the best chicken caesar salad that I have ever had. I also ordered spaghetti bolognese for my son, and he had a few mouthful, which meant that he really enjoyed it. I ate his leftover because I didn't like to waste it, and indeed, the spaghetti was delicious! Their toilets and nappy change room were also clean!!! You would always look for that when you have a baby with you. Definitely will come back again! Highly recommended!!!

We stayed behind the hotel for 3 days ( no power or water, toilets in playground across the road, first in) for $20.00 but the give you $10 back to spend in bar, Cafe or supermarket and the other $10 goes in to the town. I had the Squid schnitzel with garlic prawns ( yummo) . Make sure you book as it gets very busy. We had a few beers before we sat down for dinner and there was a promotion on Cooper Pale Ale, we won the esky and socks. Everyone was friendly and happy and the locals even talked to you.

Stayed in the Arno caravan park and took the family here for tea as a last treat at the end of the holiday. Super friendly staff, fantastic food and lovely decor. Really enjoyed our evening. Photos are: Seafood Platter for 1 Calamari and Prawn combo Porterhouse with garlic prawn sauce Kids meals were also a generous size.
