Kangaroo Island Brewery Laid-back vibes, amazing beers, and a touch of magic

Dropped in on a weekday afternoon and from the moment we pulled up, the place had that perfect rustic charm — unique on the outside, even better on the inside. The vibe is just spot on. We were greeted with warm smiles, friendly staff, and if you’re lucky, Molly the kelpie might be there to greet you too — tail wags, pats, and heart-melting eyes included.

We sampled a few beers from the taps and honestly, could’ve made a case for each one being a new favourite. Everything was just right — the setting, the people, the atmosphere. I ended up grabbing a supporters shirt because I knew I’d want to remember the place long after I left.

The little details really stood out — from the welcoming feel to something as simple (and awesome) as the old plough disc used as a sink. You can tell the owners have poured heart and soul into this place — and it shows.

I could have stayed for days. After a day of exploring the island, this was the perfect place to relax, unwind, and just soak in the good vibes.

Love it — and I’ll be telling anyone who’ll listen that this place is a must-visit on...

A must visit if you are on KI. Been here several times and it's always perfect relaxing outside with a cold one. All of the beers are great. Excited to see what's next.

Edit Oct 2025 Another lovely experience as always. Love KIB, just a repeat customer providing some feedback.

KIB is in desperate need of some lower alcohol options, such as a 3.5% mid strength or even some beers around the low end of 4%. Currently the lowest ABV beer is 4.6%. It's too strong for a designated driver, or for people who like a few beers but don't want to get too pissed.

For a place with no public transport where patrons are either driving themselves or relying on a deso, having lower alcohol options is important, not just for patron's preferences but also a safety perspective.

The mid strength craze is real - took a look at other breweries on the mainland and interstate. Even for the non-drivers, people are drinking lighter. Sell lighter beers, sell...

Kangaroo Island Brewery is an absolute must-visit for anyone traveling to the island. More than just a brewery, it's a true destination, with a relaxed, vibrant atmosphere that perfectly captures the laid-back island vibe. The setting is stunning, with ample outdoor space to soak in the sun while enjoying a tasting paddle. The beers themselves are exceptional, showcasing a wonderful variety from the classic hop-forward IPA to a unique Sheoak Stout with a subtle, smoky flavor. What makes the experience truly special is how the brewery leans into local ingredients, with each sip feeling like a taste of Kangaroo Island's unique character. The friendly staff are knowledgeable and passionate, and the simple, delicious food menu—especially the pizzas—is the ideal complement to the craft beers. It's a place where you can easily lose track of time, making it the perfect spot for a...
