Middleton tavern is an awesome well planned pub ! The layout is perfect ๐๐ป Definitely in my honest opinion Id say awesome pub friendly staff good vibes all round !
AND THE BEST PUB ON THE SOUTH COAST! seriously!!
Wouldn't recommend going there on a Monday night the Elliot has 2 for 1 specials and the royal has kids eat for free on Mondays ๐
And the buffet only for $17 is in my opinion it is not worth it but if you are vegetarian I could be but also being a vegetarian it could lead to other issues with certain items as in, what products did they use to make certain things! Because vegetarians are a different breed but I do agree with their vibe!
I have been stress testing their value for food and been eating it for many days in a fortnight it's starting to become really hard to say if any good lunch specials are not worth it a Vietnamese roll is better for value for money $10 and hard to finish hear including the buffet yeah sure ya will get full but the quality of the food and the weight l! I dunno ๐ค this is my opinion I just like a good feed!
I have noticed the specials are low weight and So definitely decide well if you go there for lunch you may be disappointed but remember there is a buffet! ๐๐ปdepending on how picky you are and if you like the specials at night I do believe it's good value it just depends on what you order! The food weight and size I think the tavern truly believes the buffet makes up for which it does! But the atmosphere is really good ๐ ๐๐ป
Also for the tavern a hot tip o would recommend ๐๐ป
Make your own chips, or maybe look into buying the pub chips the thinker ones ๐คธ๐ป it will bring more attention to detail for sure ๐
The yellow chips are 80's style and more so a fish shop look not ideal for a pub that exceeds all expectations!!
I would highly recommend going there and try for yourself!

Staff at the counter were very nice and granted our request to sit by the fire despite the reserved sign. Good menu and wine list. We ordered an entree and a main each. The entrees came out in good time, (garlic bread and crumbed scallops).
Thats when things went pear shaped. Less than three minutes later the mains arrived. My wife had taken mouthful of bread, whilst I had finished the first scallop.
I pointed out that it was reasonable to expect a break between courses, and that a main arriving in the middle of the entree was a bit rich. The response was surprising, firstly she pointed out that the kitchen was under pressure to get food out, secondly I was advised that the meals could be taken back to the kitchen, but that they would be cold when they came back out.
A later discussion with the manager resulted in an apology and the offer of a complimentary dessert (not accepted on this occasion). I observed that had I ordered a dessert - I would have ended up with three course on the table at the same time.
In conclusion, good atmosphere and good food, sadly the service from both kitchen and serving staff made the experience rather poor. Finally, my heart always goes out to the managers, who by virtue of position are required to apologise for the bad...

We recently visited Middleton tavern for a family gathering of five families, and unfortunately, our experience was overshadowed by one staff member, Donna. ๐
From the moment we arrived, she was abrupt and impatient while taking our orders. We noticed several incidents throughout the night where her demeanor didnโt improve. While handing out our food, she leant across the table, which felt a bit intrusive.
Later, when I asked for a larger container for my leftovers due to my gastric bypass surgery, Donna's response was dismissive: โWe donโt make it for you to take home.โ I was taken aback by her attitude.
To top it off, our sundaes (which looked amazing, pics attached! ๐ธ) had a surprise guestโa piece of paper. When I reported it to another staff member, she offered an apology. However, Donna interrupted with a rude comment about not being offered a refund unless we returned the ice cream. My husband was enjoying it, but we couldn't believe her insistence on the refund, especially considering how much we spentโover $700 with a 10% holiday charge! ๐ก
As someone who've been in customer service for 30 years, I believe there are far better ways to handle customer issues. I hope the management takes note!
