We have been there several times in the past and enjoyed the food and coffee. The place was usually fairly busy, which was good to see. We went back yesterday afternoon to have a coffee and cake around 2.45pm. There were a couple of people in the cafe which seemed strange as at this time in the past there were usually quite a lot of people having coffee. We were told after ordering that they were closing at 3pm which seems to be a common malady of cafes/coffee shops in this region. While we were drinking our coffee (served in takeaway cups and less than average quality) they turned off a lot of the lights which is never a good idea when you still have customers drinking and eating. Made us feel unwelcome so until the café changes ownership we won't be troubling them any more. I wish the owners success in their next venture as I am fairly certain that they won't do too well in the current one unless they make radical changes to the way...
Read moreDisappointing service. I waited over 45 minutes for my burger, all while watching people who arrived after me get served first. Looking around the place, it was clear the staff were chaotic and poorly organized.
The burger itself was better than average—very good chicken, well-seasoned, and a generous portion. The fries, as is often the case in places like this, were worse than they should be—clearly made from frozen pre-cooked products instead of being freshly prepared.
The beer selection was especially disappointing. Considering the number of fantastic craft breweries in the area, it was honestly sad to see nothing but boring options like Coopers or Corona in the fridge.

Later, when I ordered a meal listed for $13,50 and asked for a receipt, l was charged $13.67 - a 17c payments surcharge without any advice or explanation. Written or otherwise. I find these type of practices unnecessary and disrespectful given un receipted revenue, neither incurrs GST or the need to declare the Revenue in the businesses annual results.
