So very disappointed with the wait times we experienced today. I can understand if an establishment is busy there will be a wait time but my meal took almost 2 hours to be served. My sister who ordered right before me (I was next in line behind her) got her meal 40 minutes before me. Tables that had ordered after us got served first, in particular the roast dinner came out super fast. The people who ordered after me waited over 2 hrs and one of items ordered was a ham and cheese toastie. If you know your weekends are going to be busy then you need to ensure you have adequate staff levels. Perhaps look at offering less variety too? It's great to have so many options to choose from but this seems to be putting added pressure on your kitchen and is blowing out the wait times. Read moreI was very sad that such a beautiful setting could be ruined by such terrible staff. The male serving us behind the bar was unfriendly and rude. When my partner simply asked if her meal contained dairy as she is allergic he simply said couldn't tell you. Did not offer to check or continue the conversation with her in regards to this. When asked about drinks he again was rude which put a sour taste in our mouth long before out food came. This continued where we watched him be rude and petty to other patrons in the bar. The climax of this wonderful display of customer service was when someone in our party asked for a knife and fork to eat his burger and was told he was not allowed and had to go to the bar to have his food cut for him. The food itself was very good the setting beautiful but sadly it was difficult to move...
Read moreWhat a beautiful find. Stunning old builing. Stopped for lunch and couldn't have picked a better day...Sunday roast day. Roast pork was on the menu today and it was delicious. Very generous serve with all the usual roast veg trimmings but also Brussels sprouts with bacon bits, corn, steamed cabbage and a generous dollop of homemade apple sauce. Plenty of gravy too and the crackle was crunchy. There was a guy playing the guitar and singing in the beer garden. Stunning beer garden. Heaps of room for the kids to play and run around. A couple horses and a pony too. The whole place just had a real country feel about it. The service was great and the drinks were cold. Could easily become my new local if I was a local. Definitely worth a stop in. I'll definitely be back when I'm up...
