Disappointing Cute wee Cafe, clean and tidy and friendly staff, sadly the food was a let down. Portions were meagre and given that we had two suggestions for a vegan option (taking out the haloumi, eggs and pesto) asking for extra vegetables, it was obvious that we weren't given extra vegetables to compensate but still were charged the $19+ each for the dish. 1x mushroom, cut into quarters, per person, minimal, paper thin slices of pumpkin, about 1/4 avocado, sliced and around 4-5 cherry tomatoes, cut in half, per person and 2 paper thin slices of aubergine on each slice of sourdough. There were three slices of dry sourdough but one had absolutely nothing on it! PLEASE learn how to make Masala chai as it was so weak, there was little flavour, it was like drinking warm milk. It really wasn't value for money. Because of that, we wouldn't visit again.
This is in additional reply to the cafe's response to my review. Both photos are the two dishes, one that had not been eaten! The other with about two mouthfuls eaten and that is actually besides the point! Mine shows the full serving and as I said, the serving was meagre. A good amount of vegetables would have softened the toast! I also asked for the Masala chai to be made nice and strong AND asked for extra vegetables which we obviously didn't get. The main cost of this meal would be in the haloumi and eggs and pesto (we had none of those) it certainly wasn't "custom made" they were just eliminated! We don't expect something for nothing, however we did...
Read moreThe wait on beverages was understandable, but the 45m wait on the first 2 of 4 dishes for our table was not, especially as the next two dishes for our party was served 10m later.
The "Massive Breakfasts" were anaemic. The dishes, described to have "apple rosemary pork sausages", had sausages that were on par with bunnings sausage sizzles. The potato rostis, of which our party had 3, all were oiley and would not have held together under the weight of a leaf. Served with canned baked beans (accompanied with a short black hair), we were supremely disappointed.
The Super Mario Mushroom dish starred what were supposed to be grilled, but in reality was a soup of almost steamed mushrooms.
The coffee looked the part, but the attention to detail ended there. I didn't see how long the shot pours were, but by the taste of it I would say 7-10s a shot. For too fast.
The service was pleasant, though we were only warned on the food wait as our drinks were delivered to the table, 20m after our...
Read moreAbsolutely delicious & something just a little different but still has all the brunch staples. 100% recommend.
The Chilli Chill was just a perfect balance of everything and we even got to choose the spice level (so if you aren’t good with spicy foods it would still be safe) Vietnamese iced coffee was lovely and refreshing. I think next time I’m back in the area I will have to try the Taro Latte since it’s a personal fav and you don’t see it around much.
Update: Came back a second time a year later. Still great food, the Volcado was nice and light, eggs poached to perfection. I do with there was a bit more whipped beetroot feta but it was fairly balanced. Tumeric late and iced coffee were great. Food did take a little longer than anticipated but...
