I was visiting Maleny for a family wedding on the weekend. I was staying with some family at the Maleny Terrace Cottages, and on the Saturday morning, I went searching for coffee and breakfast. I searched on Google for breakfast close by. Mountain View Café (148 Mountain View Rd, Maleny, Queensland 4552) was at the top of the list. When I arrived, it wasn’t busy, which is sometimes a sign that the quality may not be up to par. I had nothing to fear. I picked up a menu, secured a table, and looked through the breakfast options. I knew the day would be long, and I would deny myself canapés to focus on an evening dinner at the wedding. Eggs Benedict was an obvious choice, along with an extra serve of bacon. I also asked for a cappuccino in a mug. The coffee arrived quickly. It tasted great. I’d happily drink coffee there again. I’d only had a few sips, and the Eggs Benedict arrived. Each muffin half was layered with finely wilted spinach, bacon, a perfectly poached egg, and Hollandaise sauce. The muffin was soft and had soaked up the liquid from the spinach. I know some may object to this, but the buttery, moist and soft muffin was delightful. The knife provided was adequate. I didn’t need a sharp steak knife to cut the muffin. The bacon was cooked exactly the way I like it. It was well-cooked but not crispy. It wasn’t greasy, and it was streaky bacon, so the amount of fat was spot on for me. I don’t like bacon, which has had the fat trimmed off. The eggs were still warm, and the yolk was soft and creamy, not runny. The Hollandaise sauce had a nice tangy flavour. I’d happily rate this Eggs Benedict highly. All up, it was a perfect breakfast. The service was fast...

Sunday morning ride on our motorcycles with a couple of our friends is what brought is to this part of QLD. A sides from the picturesque views from the cafe one of the first things we noticed was the lack of hospitality. Don’t expect a greeting or a welcome because that is not the essence of this cafe sadly. It’s more about walk in, find yourself the menu and scramble for seating with all eyes on you making the entrance or introduction a tad bit awkward. After making you’ve yourself comfortable. You will need to get up from your table and stand in a long line of other customers to make your order then wait for your friends to do the exact same thing. Not exactly what you’d expect with advanced technology on offer to speed up service delivery and save customers from long line ups and awkwardness amongst strangers a like. That said … the wait workers did a splendid job waiting and cleaning up tables our entire short visit. Wouldn’t rush back. Can get those views from surrounding lookout points with better service from...

What could be better than a Cafe with spectacular views of the Glasshouse Mountains with an amazing rainforest to stroll through and work off that piece of cake? The seating allows very generous spacing between tables. Choose from indoors or outdoors. Or perhaps get takeaway and sit in the park to enjoy. The milkshakes come in old fashioned metal milkshake cups and are very generous unlike some of the expensive cups of froth you get in some places. The coffee is also really good. We were only there for morning tea so didn't have any food but I did try some of my sister-in-law's apricot cake which was nice. Be sure to walk upstairs to the lookout and if you have a,spare 30mins, the rainforest walk that starts in the rainforest centre is well worth it. Mostly flat gravel path or purpose built board walk. You are sure to see a few paddymelons. Mary Cairncross Park has tables, shelteres, bbq's, toilets...

Beautiful place and setting. The view from the viewing balcony of the Glass house Mountains is brilliant. Our food was OK - the eggs Benedict was sour tasting? Which wasn’t very enjoyable to say the least and resulted in me scraping most of the Hollandaise off and completely ditching the eggs. Ended up just having some sourdough with bacon on which was underwhelming. Partner had the full breakfast and again said it was alright. Nothing special, the potato Rosti was undercooked. The breakfast came to just over 60 dollars which is pretty steep considering. Their chai latte was the best part about it but chai latte is chai latte. For 60 dollars and such poor standard we won’t be back!
