Sola Bar & Restaurant — Restaurant in Sunshine Coast Regional

Went there last weekend. Brunch was an ordinary pizza and soggy garlic bread. The bar staff were surly and slow, especially the young woman with spectacles. Watching them make the cocktails was excruciating, slow with time wasted washing implements as they were used rather than cleaning up afterwards. I went back to the table and watched and waited from a distance as the young woman took for ages. They have airs and graces and turned away any customers that were shirtless even though it's a poolside bar! And no sign posted with this arbitrary rule either so no one knows until they are ready to be served after waiting in line for 10 minutes. Then the hapless people had to line up again! Dinner was a joke. On our table the following happened. Fish and chips arrived with tomato sauce instead of tartare. When I took it back they gave me truffle mayo and said the tartare had run out. I suggested next time ask the customer first, don't presume. Was given a shrug in reply. Another pizza, same menu item but this time was different. Beef burger was disgusting, tastes like the grill wasn't cleaned, a greasy burned taste, and pink inside. Pink (under cooked)mince beef is a health hazard. Dessert was a tart that didn't arrive so after 35 minutes we went to find out where it was and stumbled in to the mother of all disgruntled customers going off at staff. Obviously we weren't the only unhappy campers. Prices are extortionate and the "service" and food on par with McDonalds. And the manageress is a total arrogant so and so, better suited to working...

Where do I start. My wife and I came for my birthday and I was disappointed. Staff short poured the alcohol on the drinks, not giving full shots in the cocktails. Then a short time later, a staff member started shifting furniture around the bar and restaurant area making alot of noise as he was dragging chairs and tables around. The Prices are what you would expect but service was lacking. A short time later, a bar staff member was see preparing a cocktail with a bleeding cut on his finger without bandaid on it. Very concerned about hygiene.

A short time later a customer and staff member managed to get in a argument about covering up. Signage is poor and doesn't clearly show covering up swimwear in the bar area.

Not overly impressed. Won't be returning...

Very poor food, but they charge like it's 5 star! Visited for lunch Wed 12 Jan 2022. Ordered the 'Sola Burger'... basically a steak burger. At $30 for a burger, you'd expect something beyond what you might get at the local takeaway. But, no. If the local takeaway served this up at half the price, I'd probably never go back! There was a large chunk of steak... like a chunk, not a slice. It was cooked ok, I guess, but it was way too thick for a burger. And a tough chewy. Salad lacked any imagination, the advertised onion was not evident, and it could have been helped by a touch of sauce or dressing. The chips were OK. Companion diners were happy with their poke bowls, but commented they could have been better. I really expected better from Novotel. NOT...
