Akita Teppanyaki — Restaurant in Sydney

First of all, I felt disgusted the way the teppanyaki performance has been presented. The chef has been trying to involve the customers with their silly performance to play with the foods and that's for a Japanese sake name it is disgusting because Japanese are very respectful with the food not even single grain of rice to be wasted but in this place is making fun to be thrown away the food. We had 2x seafood set menu and 1x wagyu menu, and by the time we had the entrees (salad), and while watching how the chefs played with the food, I felt want to exit the premises. I totally lost my appetite. My daughter tried to take the food catch challenge with the chef, but my husband and I refused to do it. The teriyaki sauce is too sweet, the salmon is overcooked and flaky, the fried rice is bland, and the chicken teriyaki is overcooked. The calamari, oyster, prawn, and scallops cooked good, but the sauce is not a good combination. Unfortunately, it's a first and last try. Won't recommend and won't coming back. So excited to finally experience & taste great Teppanyaki...raved all day to friends & family how excited I was to go. It was the BIGGEST disappointment! Upon entering we were seated immediately however atmosphere was dull. Our cook did not smile or try to entertain until the last meal course. When asked a question, he would grunt. He took a smoke break between courses which prolonged our time there! Food was bland, tasteless & portions were so small that all x5 courses would have been big enough for just an entree. Meat (beef & chicken) bordered on being raw, Fried rice tasted like sweet rice. Worst food experience EVER! No...

Went here for a family birthday gathering and it more than exceeded our expectations! I was hesitant upon seeing the photos but it was the holidays weekend and there was no other teppanyaki place to book in Sydney except here. I've been to other teppanyaki places with a lot more flash and ambience however our chef was an exceptional performer and the food was great. Especially good for the price. Would highly recommend.

P.S. we especially love the "middle sauce" I wish they sold that by the bottle for...
