We went here for mothers day with the family and we had a table for 9 of us with kids. We ordered the kids food and entrees to come out first, and then the mains to come out later. Once ordering I went back to check that the order was correct because on the receipt one of the steaks was showing not in entrees or mains but in a seperate section. She said I'm not sure why it printed like that but rest assured it will be coming out with the mains.

As time went by we were patiently waiting doe our meals. 35 minutes went by and I started getting impatient. I went back and asked if my entrees were ready, they advised we are waiting on the fish. However gave us our garlic bread and pizza to start if we liked. The pizza was stone cold. We sent it back and then after 5 minutes I came back to find all of our food sitting there on the counter. I spoke with the manager and specifically requested that this was not to happen as we had to feed the kids first and have the mains come out later. The manager at the time wasn't very helpful and said we can make everything again but it's going to be a long wait. And didn't give us many solutions to the problem. He advised he will give us a round of drinks. We went to our table and half our food was cold and the rest was unsatisfying. One of the seafood baskets we ordered was missing the prawns and scallops and the fish looked like it had been half eaten. The manager was called back and he said prawns and scallops dont come with the seafood basket so we questioned him and said its written on the menu and the other 2 seafood baskets we ordered have come with it. He said he would get it made but failed to fix the issue with the fish. When he brought out the prawns and scallops, it was stone called. At this stage we were so annoyed and upset we couldn't be bothered going back as there was no empathy for our situation. After a while my wife went up and spoke to the female manager who was a lot more empathetic. And refunded us for a few of the meals and provided dessert. Had this happened from the start and we spoke to the female manager I believe we would of had a lot more pleasant experience then we did. I would not go there again nor would I recommend it. It was our first time trying and our last. Thank you to the female manager that was on last night, your efforts was appreciated however the rest of your team...

We decided to hold my father’s wake here after having dinner a few times previously as we thought it was a suitable venue. I met with the events manager on 16/8 & booked the lounge area for the wake on 5/9/22. We explained that we had no idea how many people would come & booked for 30 people at $38 a head. We were assured at the meeting & also in an email that we could also add food from the menu on the day if we had more people & needed extra food. The food was to come out at 2:30pm. Sounded all organised. This was all paid for just after we made the booking. What a total disappointment is an understatement!!! When we arrived we saw we did have over 50 people but felt confident we could purchase more food. The food was to come out at 2:30. We were chasing up the food at 2:50 & had to help carry it out to the buffet tables. We decided to order pizzas as soon as the food was put on the tables - we were advised that the kitchen was closing at 3pm & we would have to order quickly & NO pizzas could be ordered as pizzas are not available until after 5pm!!! The kitchen did stay open for our order & we ordered what finger food we could but this was so stressful & unnecessarily so. The bar man, was wonderful - the only wonderful part of this whole experience. He helped us decide what would be suitable to order. There was no one cleaning up the dirty plates / serviettes etc on the tables - I was clearing the tables so guests had somewhere to put their drinks or food. Tea / coffee, I won’t even go there! A week after the event, I made an appointment to meet up with the events manager & hotel manager which they both attended where we gave our feedback, expressed our serious disappointment in the whole event. The food was outrageously expensive for what we got, a small platter of egg sandwiches (was supposed to be assorted) was $240. They did tell us it was the first time they had done a wake & they would take on board our feedback. I was just so super disappointed & stressed when I should have been able to chat & relax ‘celebrating my dad’s life’. Ambarvale Hotel, do...

Came here for mothers day lunch.. you see a kitchen full of chefs so you assume you'd get quality food but even the chef at the pass cant notice a dry under seasoned pasta when its right in front of him, but still served it to a customer. We waited 45mins for our order fish and chips fish batter was soggy not crunchy, peri peri pizza was bland no spice at all underwhelming and everyone that tried it was disappointed but it looked better than it tasted, prawn Linguine had to much pasta and looked like it had been sitting for a long time... it was very under seasoned you couldn't taste any ingredients its like they had made the base for 1 serving but added 2 or 3 servings of pasta on top so all you could taste was dry plain pasta, it litrelly had no flavour at all.. as a chef myself i make this exact dish at my current workplace and to see what my family member received was embarrassing it did look dry i tasted it and it tasted like nothing for $34. I understand times get busy in the kitchen but your standards shouldn't drop because of service. The only compliment given on the buffalo chicken wings and thats because the sauce was good. i doubt it was made in house and thats probably why it was good. I ordered a pork schnitzel it was okay but the toppings were to much that it took away from the schnitzel. I wish i had just ordered a plain pork schnitzel no topping i feel that would of been more delicious than the Mexican toppings.. i doubt my family of 9 will be coming back and will probably stick to the Campbell hotel in campbelltown or the macarthur tavern for a quality pub meal. The manager on duty was kind enough to give us a refund for the prawn Linguine so thank you for being kind and...

Service, atmosphere and range of beers gets it a four star. Fancy pub vibe with many areas to sit. Food tonight wasn't as great as it used to, but I'd be back to try a steak or burger and see if that has changed. The live music was lovely as well. We had a buffalo wings starter, crispy salmon, and bbq board to share. Was okay overall but my favourite part was the grilled corn not the meat. Big enough portion shared between three. Chorizo had a nice spice, ribs were tiny and not worth it, brisket was okay but dried as we ate everything, coleslaw was not seasoned enough, they could have had some more chips. The chicken maryland had good flavour but mine was pink. Chef explained it was because it is sous vide. Tasted okay and I ate most of it but the very pink bit I couldn't finish. The black crispy thing on the crispy salmon was quite hard but I enjoyed the quinoa. The wings had a nice tang to it but I'd like more ranch and/or celery to balance out the wings. Overall, nice place to be with a group. Will be back to try something else. Edit: came here on a Wednesday for my brothers 16th and the food was sub par... which is super disappointing. Ribeye: well done not medium rare, cooked another and it was more like rare; chicken skewer was I swear borderline raw not just the marinade like the chef said (I even asked others after as I couldn't stomach finishing it. Shame cause this had become my go to here); medium scotch fillet was so burnt on the outside, medium rare or more on the inside and chewy (poor grandma couldn't even finish a third). Other food was okay but still... not coming back on a busy night.

UPDATE. Went here tonight. New menu. Ordered my steak med rare and it was really good quality. Very tender and well cooked well a bit overcooked but yum. Nice side of veges and mash. My partner had burger and loved it. Downside was cheese pizza with oregano butter was bland probably needs garlic. Also mac and cheese ball had zero flavour so wasnt seasoned. But well be back as the steak was terrific! PREVIOUS REVIEW Not my local but i go there to the bistro to meet my mates for dinner. I find it to be expensive for what it delivers in all honesty. My steak is usually chewy salad ok chips ok. The garlic cheese pizza used to be the best ever but not the same now. A good revamp. More money spent on quality ingredients and if you can execute the right food then do it! The quality of the food should be the focus. U can achieve a better outcome by using less portion size and pushing up the quality. UPDATE July 2019 Came here last week for lunch and was quite shocked by the prices to be honest. My aunt got fish and chips for $24 and I certainly didn’t think it was worth it or “market fish” as advertised. It was definitely frozen. My beef bacon burger was good but at $19 not worth it for me. The standout was the pork belly bao $16 for two. It was delicious but again the price. In the city or Newtown they aren’t as expensive and tastier still.

The staff and the service are nice and pleasant. Unfortunately the food is severely over-rated. I ordered the $50 BBQ board/smoker plate 😭 It comes with approx $5 of meat with some coleslaw, onion rings and corn added. Literally received 1 sausage (kransky) cut in half. 3 tiny ribs. 2 chicken wings (cut into pieces). 1 bit of brisket (no bigger than 2 TimTams stacked on top of each other). 2 tiny corn cobs. Some coleslaw (ranch slaw). A few onion rings and some pickles. That disappointing snack with 3 different sauces (which took up more space on the serving tray then the meat). One of the overpriced hanging lamb skewers would have almost double the amount of meat. Don't ever make the mistake of thinking this is a share plate to enjoy with your partner. I'd suggest taking a packed sandwich or 2 with you, if you are expecting to receive a meal. Look at the picture (not the best quality) not a thing has been touched.
