On 20th March I went to the Dangar Cafe for lunch. The service was extremely slow. 1.25 hours from order to serving. The meal a tuna salad was almost inedible. It consisted of rocket with stalks, kale, snow pea sprouts with stalks and red.cabage cut thick. This was smothered/drowned in dressing/oil which made the above limp and had a disgusting taste. Tuna and haloumi/feta cheese (not sure which) was placed on top. I eat all of the above but the taste was ruined with the dressing/oil This cafe has gone "yuppie" and one is unable to get a sandwich or regular hamburger with regular bread or buns. A friend had a hamburger which they also did not enjoy. Sourdough is difficult to eat with false teeth. Go back to good a good old menu as well as your yuppie...

Very DISAPPOINTED after visiting this cafe for its google reviews, makes us doubt the authenticity of these reviews. Staff were not friendly and food was below average. Service boy (tall, lean) dropped my entire food on the table, but what was more pathetic was that he then proceeded to grab the food off the table and plopped them back on the plate with a "sorry". As we had had to leave on the next ferry we didn't ask for a replacement or refund. Pathetic service, first of a kind that we experienced after travelling far and wide. We will visit again for the beauty of the island, however we will dine at the KING TIDE CAFE at Hawkesbury River Marina Brooklyn which offers great service and amazing food along...

Mixed feelings. Lovely spot. Coffee nice. Service left alot to be desired. No hello either time I went inside with two different staff. No mention of the hefty 1.8% credit card surcharge till I saw my receipt and didn't see it written anywhere. Food arrived and was shocked at the packet potato chips-for $20 a burger this is very very poor value for money. Burger tasted nice at least. When food arrived at table no explanation whose burger was whos... just dump and run...without any words at all. Being the only place on the island they really can do what they want, but I probably...

Have recommended to friends & will be back. A hidden gem and surprisingly accessible near a ferry & Hawkesbury river station. Fantastic to have lunch, walk the island & return for some icecream. Fantastic fresh burger & good to see properly made bacon egg waffles (hard to find elsewhere). Staff were very young & lacked some customer service, but that’s expected. Location, food & atmosphere made up for it. Would suggest serving in house gelato if you can afford the space? Would be great!

This place is very peaceful especially on weekdays. You get a multi million dollars views combined with the best coffees as well as very nice breakfast or lunch options. I would highly recommend the Affogato (vanilla ice cream with the best coffee shot possible) as well as the beef burger. There’s both indoor and outdoor seating- so on a cold day it’s great to sit inside while waiting for the ferry

Chill out and get the ferry from Brooklyn to Dangar Island, the Depot is close to the wharf and has great coffee and meals as well as being the general store for the island. Wheelchair accessible but no restrooms, the public restrooms are a short walk away near the bowling club. Enjoy a good meal at the Depot and have a relaxing walk around the island, look for the kookaburras and other birds.
