If you’re a fan of Chinese cuisine and find yourself anywhere near Guildford West, do yourself a favour and stop by The Golden Bite on Fowler Road. This place is an absolute standout — easily one of the best Chinese restaurants in the area!

From the moment you walk in, you're greeted with warm hospitality and the comforting aroma of sizzling woks. Their special fried rice is cooked to perfection — fluffy, fragrant, and loaded with generous portions of meat and veggies. But the real star of the show? The Mongolian Lamb. Tender slices of lamb coated in a rich, savoury sauce with just the right kick — it’s honestly one of the best I’ve had in years.

Their dumplings are also worth a mention — fresh, juicy, and perfectly pan-fried or steamed, depending on your preference. You can tell everything is made with care and attention to flavour.

Pasta is disgusting. I've ordered 3 different pastas and they were all overly saucy and the pasta was way too soft and mushy, I'm guessing because the amount of sauce that was in the container would've cooked the pasta more. You can tell it was overcooked.

As you can see in the photo of my pesto pasta, when I received it, all you can see is A LOT of oil (I drained half of what's in the photo) which no one wants to see in their food which is disgusting. I felt like I had enough after the first bite which I never have with pasta, and also felt really dehydrated.

Also, no cutlery was provided which made it more disappointing.

Absolutely disgusting experience. I ordered from this place and found hair in not one, but TWO pizzas. Completely revolting. Clearly no hygiene standards, no care, and no respect for customers. It’s obvious that whoever is working there doesn’t wear proper hair nets or gloves.

When you’re paying good money for food, the bare minimum you expect is cleanliness and they can’t even manage that. I lost my appetite instantly, and the thought of eating anything from here again makes me feel sick. Save your money and your stomach this place needs a serious...
