Recently when ordering in drive through I got there first in line, nothing indicated they were busy. I ordered and was warned there was a 2 minute wait on one of my items. I said this was fine, then after paying, this changed to 10 minutes and then I was told to drive through. Several cars ordered after me and were parked as well (all ordering massive amounts of food which outdid what I ordered) and they were all given their food before me. We ended up waiting 45 minutes in total before I went in and demanded a refund, to which the manager refused and forced me to wait another 5 minutes while she made my order. All the food was cold and soggy and the only thing that was hot was an extra hot chips she threw in to shut us up. Two weeks later, I ordered in drive through again. I watched as the person typed the food on the screen and it was correct (which was about $50 worth of food). I drove to the next window, and the man repeated my order which was correct. I paid and asked for a receipt and was told I had to pick it up from the food window. What is the point of doing this if there is a problem with the order? I went to the next window, there were missing chips and wrong items. I tried to politely clarify this at the window and the rude blonde girl serving me proceeded to argue with me that they can sort the missing items out but I needed to pay the difference for other items because apparently I had only paid for smaller versions of them (with no proof as they had still not given me a receipt at this point). I was happy to do this, but she expected me to drag my kids inside after already waiting my turn for food, to go in and sort it out because they didn’t have eftpos facilities at that window. This whole ordeal could have been avoided if I was given a receipt at the first window so I could pick up the issue at the first window where there were eftpos facilities. In addition to this, the food was cold and chips undercooked, and my daughter’s popcorn chicken go bucket had pieces of lettuce in the bottom of the bucket as well. We have had multiple problems at this Ermington KFC store and nothing is being done about the food or the disgusting customer service. We won’t be returning. Oh and don’t bother contacting area management. The best they will organise is a credit voucher for you to come back and enjoy the same standard as last time, the on site managers are incredibly rude and continue to be just as obnoxious every time customers visit (regardless of how polite customers try to be when negotiating with staff who are in the wrong). When a business is genuinely sorry for poor service, they ‘show they are sorry’ by initiating change or improvements in addition to saying they’re sorry. This place is a hidden gem.
I live in the local area of Ermington and have been ordering from them religiously - especially during the pandemic when the 5km radius did not give me many restaurant options.
Their chicken is the freshest I've ever ordered - and I've tried many KFCs in Sydney, this one amongst me and all my other friends is the top contender.
I'm just ashamed of myself that I've never given them a try because of all the negativity I see in the reviews here.
Also, their customer support staff is an A++
The delivery driver did not deliver my desserts and drinks so I called up the KFC very upset, believing that they messed up my order.
The girl I spoke to reassured me they were sent with the driver and then I explained that my bag had none of that. She then explained to me that she sent two bags, she would never put the hot items with the cold items to ruin the food experience and apologised that I missed out on my items. She then offered to give me double my desserts and drinks when I come back I store because I should not miss out.
I can't tell you how much stellar customer service is missing from many of our food chains. You don't see places packing the drinks separately from the hot menu items.
