We just visited Lal Qila Dural and had an amazing dining experience. The restaurant offers traditional Pakistani Mughlai flavors, prepared authentically and presented beautifully.
We started with Lahori Chatkhare, which was a delightful combination of crispy spinach leaves, potato sticks, puffed rice, nuts, and raisins, all topped with yoghurt, tamarind, chili, and mint—a perfect balance of sweet, tangy, and spicy. The Qutabi Malai Tikka was incredibly tender, marinated in yoghurt and spices, with a creamy tandoor finish that made each bite melt in the mouth. Dilpasand Lahori Seekh was equally impressive, with fine minced lamb, herbs, and green chilies, cooked perfectly in the clay oven.
For mains, we tried Goat Karahi and Chicken Handi. The goat was slow-cooked on the bone, falling apart effortlessly, rich in traditional spices and garnished with coriander and ginger. The chicken handi, prepared in the Dum Pukht style, was aromatic and flavorful, with tender meat infused with Mughlai richness.
We also tried the Shouq-e-Nawab BBQ Biryani, featuring tandoor-simmered chicken cooked with basmati rice in a zesty tomato-onion sauce, served with raita. Every mouthful was satisfying and well-spiced without being overwhelming.
For desserts, the Shahi Kulfi was a highlight—Punjabi-style on a stick, flavored with pistachios and almonds, topped with rose syrup and crushed pistachios. The Badami Kheer was a classic rice pudding with cardamom and pistachio topping, comforting and indulgent.
To complement the meal, we had two signature drinks: Jaam-e-Noor Jahan, a refreshing summer drink with mint, lime, and lemonade, and Jaam-e-Lal Qila, a watermelon-based summer drink with a hint of masala and fresh lemon—a perfect finish to the meal.
The restaurant itself has a warm and inviting ambiance, and the staff were friendly and attentive throughout our visit. Lal Qila Dural is perfect for anyone looking for authentic Pakistani and Mughlai cuisine in Sydney, with a great mix of flavors, generous portions, and excellent service.
Highly recommended for both casual dining and...
Read moreI had the pleasure of dining with my family at Lal Qila Dural tonight, and I wanted to address a recent experience we had while dining there. A small group of people, accompanied by children, were also dining at the restaurant. Unfortunately, their children were ill-mannered and creating a discomforting atmosphere for other patrons. It is essential for parents to teach proper restaurant etiquette in their children, including using indoor voices, remaining seated at the table, and showing respect to other diners. Not only does this create a more enjoyable dining experience for everyone, but it also demonstrates respect for the establishment and its staff. Parents should also be mindful of how their children's behaviour can affect other patrons. No one wants their meal disrupted by loud or unruly children, so it is crucial for parents to ensure their children are well-behaved while dining out. By practicing good manners and teaching their children to do the same, parents can contribute to a positive atmosphere in restaurants and make the dining experience more enjoyable for all. It is a simple way to show respect for others and enhance the overall dining experience. Lal Qila Diner is renowned for its exceptional Pakistani and Indian cuisine in the area. The restaurant's flavourful dishes, warm hospitality, and inviting atmosphere have made it a favourite among locals and visitors alike. From traditional curries and tandoori specialties to mouthwatering biryanis and decadent desserts, Lal Qila Diner never fails to impress with its authentic flavours and generous portions. Read moreWe recently found out that our favourite restaurant has moved to Dural, and of course, we couldn’t resist paying a visit. This place has always held a special spot for us because of the way it combines authentic flavours with warm hospitality. Walking in, we were instantly reminded of all the good times we’ve spent here over delicious meals.also I can not forget Mr Meer
Naturally, we went straight for our all-time favourite dishes: the Dakhni Tikka and the Bihari Boti. The Dakhni Tikka came out perfectly cooked, tender and bursting with flavour, with just the right balance of spices that left us wanting more with every bite. The Bihari Boti, on the other hand, is in a league of its own — smoky, juicy, and marinated so well that the taste lingers long after. Both dishes reminded us why we keep coming back, no matter the location.
What makes the experience even better is that the quality and consistency haven’t changed at all with the move. If anything, the new spot in Dural feels like a fresh start while still holding on to the heart of what makes this place so loved. For anyone craving authentic flavours and memorable meals, this is the...
