Moorebank Sports Club — Restaurant in Sydney

Went on Wednesday night and it was busy as raffles were on. We ordered around 8 pm Young man taking our orders did his best to hear my order as it was soo loud in the dining area. I ordered medium scotch fillet, salad chips with mushroom gravy and the Raspberry, fetta and walnut salad with a lamb solaviki stick as an extra. Steak arrived very quickly First thing we do is grab a chip out of basket, and it went down hill from there. Chips were really cold Mushroom gravy cold Steak was good, cooked well it was warm not hot. Salad looked like it had been sitting in heat all day, wilted and actually not a salad, 2 small piece of tomatoe had been eaten off plate but that was all the salad on the plate small bit of wilted lettuce and red capsicon, Spanish red onion on the plate.

When staff brought out my salad I said look I'm sorry but the chips are really cold She was more than happy to change which she did with a large plate of chips I thought what a waste we just wanted what we had at the start a small basket of Hot chips, not a massive big plate. It made us look stupid when we left as she looked at the plate and it had only been 1/2 eaten.. too big too much. My Raspberry salad arrived soon after and looked better, but it was just all lettuce, a little bit of fetta, and Had to dig to find walnuts. No Raspberries only Raspberry dressing, which is too sweet and overpowering. My lamb solaviki didn't arrive, so I had to go back up and see what happened Sorry Madam you didn't order one! Yes, I did, but it's so loud in here. How can anyone hear. So $10 after a small stick of lamb solaviki turned up with about 5 small pieces of meat. I was absolutely appalled to pay that, and it was cold as well. I know what meat straight off a grill is like, and this definitely had been just sitting under lights to keep warm or to dry out who knows.

All I can say is I understand that the kitchen staff we hit hard all night and were very busy, I'm guessing we got what was at the end of the night, cold gravy, leftover cold chips and a very expensive lamb stick that had been cooked awhile ago, lamb had shrunk.

( and these were definitely not cooked fresh as cold chips are what they are cold!!! ... not Hot salty freshly cooked and put straight in basket and served Hot)

The gravy I'm guessing was just the last of it, sitting in steel pot and it definitely was not hot or warm, and put in a round cardboard little bowl and served on plate with steak.

$75 later I was sooo disappointed with the food.

All the staff were amazing, really lovely. Bar staff making cocktails were amazing they were smashed, but good cocktails

I'm just really disappointed in the food. I will go again to try for an early dinner to see if...

Kayla and Elica-Jane, in particular, stood out with their exceptional service and attentiveness. They made us feel incredibly welcome and went the extra mile to ensure our dining experience was truly memorable.

What truly impressed us was how they handled a mishap that occurred with our little one. They quickly sprang into action, offering assistance and making sure our child was comfortable and taken care of. Their swift response and genuine concern truly touched our hearts.

The level of professionalism and dedication displayed by the bistro staff at Moorebank Sporties Club is truly commendable. It's evident that they take great pride in their work and genuinely care about the satisfaction of their guests.

Not only was the service outstanding, but the food was also absolutely delicious. The menu offered a wide variety of options, and each dish was prepared with great attention to detail. The flavors were exquisite, and the presentation was top-notch.

Our experience at Moorebank Sporties Club was so impressive that we have already made plans to return in the near future. It's rare to find such a combination of exceptional service, delectable food, and a welcoming atmosphere all in one place.

Nice looking place, the servers are fast, friendly and professional. The menu has quite a large variety of things, reasonably priced. The cocktails are great, lively entertainment and nicely cooled for the hotter nights. However I give it 3 out of 5 stars because when I first arrived and asked the young lady at the front was very short with me when I asked if I could become a member.

Then later in the evening, our group of 10 were sitting inside and one of my friends wanted a cake, she opted for the red velvet

She tried one small spoon of it and didn’t like it, I tried a bit that had fallen off and agreed it didn’t taste right. It tasted old, the cream had separated from the sponge and the sponge seemed to be stale

We explained to a woman behind the counter who claimed to be manager what had happened and she refused with a loud “NO” our polite request for a refund. For the next several minutes, the woman proceeded to change from “I’m the manager here” to “I need a manager to authorise this” to “I’m not giving you a refund”.

We remained polite and explained that she had barely had one small bite and that’d we’d understand if she’d eaten the majority of it why you then wouldn’t issue a refund and that we weren’t upset with this individual employee just dissatisfied with the cake and understand that sometimes these things happen. But the fact that this whole interaction took place over several minutes, for like a $7.50 cake after our group of 10 had spent so much over the last 5 hours.

But other than that, the venue was very nice, clean and had plenty of places to sit down and enjoy good music...
