Seven Miles Coffee Roasters (Office & Roastery) — Restaurant in Sydney

I purchased the Seven Miles Sample Pack as a first-time customer, hoping to try a range of coffees and find a favourite to repurchase. Unfortunately, the experience was very disappointing.

Several of the bags had the exact same roast date and batch number, even though they were supposed to be different coffees. Once the information cards were removed (which aren’t attached to the bag), it became impossible to tell them apart.

I contacted customer service, expecting they could tell me which coffee was which based on the batch number or roast date — but I was told they couldn’t help because 13 coffees were roasted that day. That’s not a valid excuse. Any reputable roaster should be able to trace their products beyond just a loose card.

After a lot of back-and-forth, someone eventually admitted that I’d been sent the same coffee twice under different names. A replacement was sent, but even that came with further issues — inconsistent batches, and stickers placed over the aroma valve.

I wasn’t asking for compensation — I just wanted to know what I was drinking so I could decide what to buy in the future. Unfortunately, the system they use for the sample pack is poorly thought out, and the service made me feel like I was being unreasonable just for asking.

I won’t be purchasing again, and I wouldn’t recommend the sample pack to anyone who’s trying to compare different coffees. If anything gets mixed up, not even the company can tell you what’s what — and they may not be...

Great coffee and food, although recently a more expensive menu. Service however the last two times I've been has been terrible. First time was grabbing a takeaway, waited for ages despite the place not being overly busy - at one point the barista chick actually stopped and had a leisurely chat with the other waiter. Today, ordered food and coffee - food came after ten minutes and was great, but no coffee. Barista (same person) did lots of rinsing this, wiping that, banging this, but was painfully slow. I called over the waitress after 30 mins of waiting to ask about my coffee. After 45mins I just gave up. Big shame, great business being let down by way below...
