Star Buffet Marconi club is pretty average these days, in my case the hot food is usually lukewarm and the carvery food is a bit bland. The experience of the place feels chaotic at times especially on the weekend. The attention to detail and care is not what it was a few years ago. I probably would suggest the following things that might improve the over all experience.
1, They should have at least two water station for ppl to get their own jugs of water since usually you can’t find anyone at the drink bar.
2, I would suggest on the weekends have two dedicated kids serving area that has hot chips, nuggets, ground beef nachos with avo, diced onion, tomatoe and sour cream, and macaroni cheese and soft mini garlic or plain bread rolls. The weekends the place is usually packed with kids and their families and extended families usually celebrating birthdays and special occasion etc. I think having two kids eating bar areas would help move things along.
3, I would suggest two designated condiment section next to the spoons and forks area. Keep that area regularly stock with ginger, shallots, sweet chilli sauce, tomato sauce, wasabi and soy sauce to help enhance the flavours of the food, especially the seafood. I had to go on a search to locate these items. I was able to locate the soya sauce and wasabi at the sushi bar but the ginger and shallots were out and they’re usually located near the plate area.
4, I personally think instead of a drop in service, there should be a booking system for large groups of more than 10 people. So that each hour the food is freshly cooked and is still hot and replenished for the next groups to come in. So the food is the star of the star buffet.
5, I would suggest a toddler play area inside the facility, so kids from 2 - 5 years old can run around safely and not inside the eating area. I almost ran into a few kids today trying to get to my table. That way mum and dad can see their kids and eat in peace.
6, The mini dessert cakes are not my favourite usually they are a bit dry. So freshness is the key here. The mini crème brûlée is rather small but taste okay. I am not a fan of the self serving ice cream, the flavour and texture is too sweet and soft for me. I prefer the MacDonalds 30 cents ice cream cone, just based on flavour and texture. Whatever that brand is, I would suggest that one.
6, I would also suggest to review your senior discounts, $1 less than the normal price for ppl in this group, is in my opinion not really a discount.
That’s my honest review. I...

Read moreThe food is ranges from average to good, depends on what it is. But it's all you can eat, so I don't think i can complain about the food. The Greek salad was delicious and there was strong sea food smells that made me feel sick. There is no good customer service. The workers wait over you to take plate off your table that you're still eating from. Sometimes you feel compelled to say your finished because you're being stared down at. None of the workers appear happy. They all look extremely miserable and it makes me wonder what their working conditions are actually like. They all look like they are on a visa and not getting paid right. None of them talk at all, like when I said thank you to multiple workers cleaning plates none even made eye contact or smiled back, like dead robots. Not human. So there is no human friendly customer service at all. The bathrooms were horrible. The women's toilet was disgusting there was so many fruit flies in there an infestation. İt smelt so bad and there was no hand towels the soap that comes out isn't enough either. The floors were dirty. İt was so crowded people were walking into eachother spilling food. They pack as many people as they can for $$$ with no regard to safety. My hot coffee got knocked by people and staff walking right towards me between tables. Maybe less tables and more room for people to walk with food and drinks. Not to mention children running around and bumping plates of food too. Would i go there again? Probably, but not...
