I've dined in this restaurant a few times. The staff are very helpful and polite. Last year I ordered home delivery from them and this was via Uber. The food arrived squashed and stone cold. I contacted them a couple of months later to see if they had stopped using Uber and was told they had received a lot of complaints regarding Uber home delivery and were now doing their own. This was great news! I placed a order and the food arrived fresh, hot and on time.Last week I phoned to order a home delivery and was told that they had gone back to using Uber. I have ordered a few times through Uber from three different restaurants over the past few months and they couldn't even find a driver! This resulted in me cancelling the order after waiting 2 hours for the delivery and I received a refund. I will not use a restaurant that uses Uber for deliveries so I decided to place an order for "Pick-up", but will not do so again as I do not have a car and this is not practical. On this occasion a friend picked up the order for me, in the evening. It was fresh and hot, but the Tirimisu was watery and very bland. It had no sweetness to it at all. I was told on the phone that morning that it have just been freshly made, so maybe it had just been taken out of a fridge or freezer. The pictures I took attest to it having water in the base of the take away containers and you can see the sponge is not firm.Unless The Italian Bistro switches back to doing their own home deliveries I won't be dealing with them again and I will stick with restaurants that employ their own drivers to ensure food freshness and prompt delivery. After this experience I will not be eating in there...

First time back since the renovations, hated it. It is not a restaurant any more, it is a bistro. The only good thing is the food is still great, but we are paying restaurant prices for a bistro atmosphere. My partner and I visited the restaurant frequently, and booked a table in a quiet corner so we could enjoy a quiet conversation over a nice meal. Last week, we had to endure all televisions on, with PA music turned up louder to drown out the televisions, and my partner and I raising our voices at each other so we could be heard. Every other person in the area had to raise their voices so they could be heard, which made the whole experience most unpleasantly, NOISY. My partner had pizza, and I had the schnitzel, my meal came out almost 10 minutes before my partners, embarrassing, the excuse, one meal takes longer to cook, the actual reason is bad kitchen management, again, this is what you expect from a bistro. Unfortunately, it got worse, the bar attendants do not know how to pull a beer. If you pay good money for a product, it is not unreasonable to expect good quality, I had three schooners, all with no head, and flat. And when you humbly and respectfully try to point out how a beer should be pulled, the feeling that I got back was, we don't care. The attendants, clearly, have had very little training. This is not hospitality. I ran a hotel with a restaurant for ten years, been a certificated cellar person for twenty eight years, taught TAFE students, and worked in many different areas of the hospitality industry, I do know a little bit. Please take this review in good nature, and look at it as things...

I normally love this place and the owner is amazing but your manager tonight Sherinin (might not be correct name it was very loud) was awful. I only came in for a dessert and a coffee. I went straight to the dessert counter she I asked her if they have crème brûlée she said no I asked is that from now on and before the could answer popped on the phone and Rudely put her back to me! I waited and waited for her to get off the phone, looked at the menu to try and solve my own question and she still had her back to me. I called out and she ignored and then I told her are you serious? No answer. She not once said sorry just a moment. If you get a call I get it but you can quickly put my order through instead of spending 5 mins or more with your back to me typing. Owners please review the camera footage, it happened around 7 and I don’t think you’d appreciate this behaviour from your employee. I’ve never been treated this way here and I can’t believe someone would treat someone this way. Never once did she say sorry but 1 positive a young boy who I had to go get from the other counter he came and apologised for her and then served me. He was so kind and honestly made me feel more welcome than...

The Italian bistro serves the most authentic Italian dishes I’ve ever had in the inner west suburbs. Even though it is located in the Birrong sports club the food is actually amazing and the service is great too. When you come here during weekdays or weekends prepare to line up because they are very popular among the locals. I tried to come here several times during the week and the wait was extremely long. It is better to come here during lunch when there are less people and the lines are shorter. Generally speaking there actually are no lines when you come during lunchtime. I had the Pescatore linguine and added a little bit of chilli oil and Palmerson for extra taste. It was superb.

Seafood platter was the freshest ive had. An absolute delight to see the Italian Bistro packed to the maximum, Perfect, hospitable, family service and atmosphere. Special request for the seafood platter, Western Australian Lobster, Scampi, Sword Fish and the list goes on and on. Superb. The Tuna Carpaccio was an absolute melt in your mouth delight. If you are not too sure on what to order, ask for Mario, and he will be more than happy to assist. As always a pleasure to be spoilt with fresh seafood.
