The Sawmill in West Pymble, NSW, is a charming rustic retreat that offers a delightful dining experience, earning a solid four-star rating. The venue's rustic ambiance and natural surroundings create a tranquil and inviting atmosphere, allowing guests to escape the city and unwind.

The menu at The Sawmill is a pleasant surprise, featuring a range of dishes that combine classic favorites with innovative twists. Locally sourced ingredients are showcased in each dish, resulting in outstanding quality and well-balanced flavors. The presentation is visually appealing, demonstrating the chef's creativity and passion.

The friendly and attentive service adds to the overall positive experience. The staff members are knowledgeable about the menu and provide excellent recommendations, making guests feel welcome and well-cared for.

The Sawmill also offers additional attractions, such as an on-site artisan bakery and a picturesque outdoor seating area, enhancing the overall experience.

While the venue can get busy during peak hours, resulting in longer wait times, and some guests may find certain menu items slightly pricey, these minor drawbacks do not overshadow the overall quality of the dining experience.

In summary, The Sawmill in West Pymble, NSW, is a charming rustic retreat that delivers a delightful dining experience. With its tranquil ambiance, exceptional food, friendly service, and attention to detail, it leaves a lasting impression. Whether seeking a relaxing brunch or a memorable lunch, The Sawmill is a worthy choice and deserves its solid...

We had a dinner here on a Saturday night, wanted to explore a different restaurant and came across Sawmill which had overall pretty good ratings. My fault that I didn't paid attention to the comments with lower rating. Unfortunately we realised very quickly that we won’t be coming back. We have ordered some drinks to start with which came pretty quickly but...calling a cordial with lemonade and piece of lime (drink menu actually said mint but maybe they run out of it as there was none) a mocktail and charging $10 for it is a bit over the top. We've ordered mushroom truffle arancini as entree to share and prawn linguini and chicken parmigiana with some steamed veggies as mains. The arancini came very fast which made me worry before I even touched them. The rice was overcooked, there were no mushrooms at all, barely any truffle and in general tasteless. Thank god for the mayo on top, and I am not a mayo person! The mains followed similar theme...the prawn pasta was tasteless, as if they put a boiled pasta and just topped it with few prawns and tomatoes, I couldn't taste any sauce. The chicken parmigiana was probably the highlight of our dinner although had a bit unusual side of tomato spaghetti. Overall very disappointed with overpriced tasteless food. I hope the chef will take this feedback and the similar ones that has been already provided and change few things to make the food...

Tonight was my second time back here. Last time was a cold raining winter night 2 months ago.

Their pizzas were the reason we came back tonight. Fresh dough SOOOOOO yummy that I could still taste the subtle saltiness. See the charc on the plate (and my fingers too) can tell their REAL pizza oven is real deal.

And of course the price....still good value IMO. One pizza was barbeque chicken (they normally have capsicum, just not this one as per our request) and the other one was sausage & potato. Both delicious 😋😋😋. The sausage was good quality - Yum! The bbq chicken tasted dry though. In fact I had the same bbq chicken pizza first time, so I can confirm it's consistent in quality. Hope their bbq chicken could be a bit more succulent and tender.

Service was prompt, professional and attentive. Also consistent.

Their menu already has good variety of options, and first visit also had Special Menu on the paper on the wall (not on wallpaper, they have a big paper roll hanging (by THE thing) on the wall. Want to know what's THE thing? Go and check it out! I still like to see some more pizza & pasta options on their menu.

I already contemplating my next return. Can't wait !!!

Update Sat 15 Oct, 2022 Returned tonight. Also had their fries, called Parmesan Fries ($8). Had it before in July actually. Of...

We haven't been here before so we thought that we would give it a go. Normally we go to the West Pymble shops and sit outside if it is a fine day like today. Opening time here was 11.30 and we were the second couple in. Service was fast and friendly. Lunch and dinner menus were available and on weekends they also open for breakfast. We ordered coffee, a vegetarian pizza and spaghetti marinara. The coffee was excellent but only warm, not hot at all. Both the pizza and spaghetti were nice, not exceptional, but nice. I had the spaghetti which had a nice flavour and had some squid, prawns and two NZ mussels. Unfortunately the mussels were cold. My wife had the pizza as she is vegetarian and she said that it was OK, but nothing to write home about. She said that she was a little disappointed as it looked sensational but the flavour was average. There is lots of tables with additional outside areas front and back. For us it was all a little underwhelming so we probably won't go back

The Sawmill is a hidden gem of an Italian restaurant in leafy West Pymble that emphasises simple Italian flavours, serving wood-fired pizza, home-cooked pasta and more. What we ordered: BBQ Chicken Pizza BBQ Pork Ribs Prawn Linguine, & Red Wine. The BBQ chicken pizza was cooked to perfection in the traditional wood-fired oven with a delicious crispy crust and lovely smoky flavour. The pork ribs were absolutely melt-in-your-mouth tender and you wouldn’t go wrong ordering the succulent prawn linguine either. This restaurant is large with both outdoor and indoor seating areas all with a delightfully warm and inviting ambiance, and the service is friendly and efficient. It is so lovely to have a good quality, Italian restaurant like this on the Upper North Shore and not have to trek to the other side of Sydney for Italian food. I highly recommend The Sawmill Restaurant as a must visit Upper North Shore dining destination.
