After seeing others comment on their experience I felt the need to voice my experience as well.
In one instance after ordering my food I realised I had been undercharged, I went to the counter to let them know and the owner yelled at the poor girl on the counter, it was a mistake and only a couple of dollars difference; the girl did not deserve to be spoken to like that.
Another time I was waiting for my take away food, the owner was wrapping it up to give it to me and just as she was about finished someone she knew came to the door, the owner left my food that was ready. Thank god the young girl on the counter saw my food and gave it to me, otherwise lord knows how long I would have been waiting.
Another time I ordered a banana bread take away, when I opened it up at home it was completely burnt on one side.. not just a little crispy, it was completely black.
I have been to this cafe 3 times and have tried to give the owner the benefit of the doubt that she was having a bad day, but each time my experience gets worse.
In conclusion, the owner is very rude to her staff(even if they are her friends) no one should ever have to be spoken to or treated like that in the workplace. Food and drink is average at best, but the service leaves a bad taste...
Read moreI’ve been here twice, and got nothing on neither of my visit. First visit was about a few weeks ago, around 1pm, I took my kids down to get a slice of cake. A lady staff member who was busy on her phone said to me without looking at me that they were closed. As there were customers sitting in the cafe and having lunch, it didn’t look like they were closed, so I said it’s only 1. The lady went: yes, we have some emergencies, we are closed. No apologies, no eye contact during the whole conversation. I thought it must be some real emergency, I left. Just now, around same time 1pm, I went down to get a soy latte. The same lady said they were too busy to take my order, and I was asked to leave and come back in 20min. Guess what, 20mins later, I wouldn’t want a coffee from you anymore. You could have told me that you have some customers waiting in front of me and it’s up to me if I want to place my order and wait. We live in the apartment, and want to be your regulars, but I’ve never had such funny experiences before. Been there twice and left twice empty handed. I have given toast many changes to turn my negative experiences into positives with no luck .
After waiting at the counter for a good 5-10 minutes without anyone taking my order I was told that I couldn’t order and bacon and egg roll as they were too busy and just got a big order for 10 rolls . I was told the wait would be 30min and no hot food would be cooked . The kitchen was a mess and all staff looked like they couldn’t handle the orders .
On another occasion we were told it’s too hot to cook & they were closing early so the only thing that was provided was a fresh juice .
I walked out and I’ll never be back .
Toast needs to pick its game up . It’s in such a lovely part of woolooware and would be great little quiet spot...
