TRATTORIA SOTTO CASA — Restaurant in Sydney

We booked this restaurant for a special birthday but there was no greetings when we arrived except your table is over there. We proceeded with the night and our 2x pizzas to share as entree's came out reasonably quick but overcooked, we didn't worry about it. We believed our main meals would follow and be better. We tried to talk to each other but the restaurant was very loud with all the tables trying to shout louder then the other in order to hear each other. With no further acknowledgement we waited and waited, we thought maybe our order didn't go in the system.? but we waited a bit more and one hour and half later the mains came out with no apologies but sadly by then we practically lost our appetite. Regardless, we then had to order desert as it was a "special birthday" but again not even an acknowledgement or comment about the birthday, the desserts were just left and they just walked away, even though the booking was done over the phone and directly with the restaurant. So a very disappointing night with no communication or acknowledgement from the staff, overcooked entrees and the mains lacked taste. So I found the other reviews interesting. Update We went back a week later for my husband birthday late Feb 23. I took my sister's family and in-law and they ❤️ it. We got to try he mussels this time and they were SO good I am back again next week when the stupid weather get a bit better. It's either too hot or so wet.

Mid Feb 2023 We moved to the Canada Bay area recently and was looking for a great local Italian restaurant. My neighbour highly recommended this place and l❤️ it. I think anyone likes food should at least try this place once.

Every dish is made with ❤️, you can just tasted in the food. 3 of us had 2 entres, 4 mains ( spaghetti Marinara, a nightly special, gnocchi with beetroot and goat cheese, steak Dianne and meat balls) bread etc. We ordered heaps because we couldn't stop eating because it was ridiculously awesome.

All dishes were quality and yummy. They made everything from scratch, from the bread to the Spaghetti etc.

Will come back to try the mussels. It was SOLD OUT at 630pm.

The wait staff were fantastic too served with big smiles. What more could you ask for.

Amazing authentic Italian cuisine, matched with warmth and friendly service! A hidden gem that I'll return to time and time again! Visited Sotto Casa on a Friday evening for dinner with friends. The menu has a wide selection that satisfied everyone, with most pasta types being homemade. I had the fettuccine ragù which is a must for ragù fans! The pasta was made and cooked to perfection, the sauce tasted beautiful and the pork and veal ragù was melt in mouth. The restaurant has a casual vibe and family friendly atmosphere. Highly recommended!
