Water Vista Cafe — Restaurant in Sydney

We came for the Father’s Day event to celebrate my Fiancé’s first Father’s Day. Due to the advertising on social media of a meat raffle, special Father’s Day menu & live music we obviously had high hopes. Unfortunately none of these advertised items occurred. Our coffee order took 40 minutes to arrive & arrived in take away cups which were never requested. This coffee order was also meant to come hand in hand with a raffle for dads for the said meat tray raffle which again, never occurred. At the time of ordering, we asked for the raffle ticket for the coffee & was told they would come around to the tables with them. Our food took over an hour to arrive - we were told there’d be a 30-35 minute wait at time of ordering. Over an hour & waiting with a baby as well was less than ideal. The owner was greatly friendly at the time of ordering however offered no “sorry for the wait” etc at the time of bringing out the order. We were the first seating of the day, I can only imagine how the remainder of the day will unfold & the fellow disappointed patrons who have also specifically gone due to the Father’s Day Advertising. Unfortunately we won’t be back & it has put a dampener on my fiance’s first...

We had takeaway fish and chips to eat in the park. Lovely food and very friendly service. We regularly visit this location as we’re local and will be returning more often now the cafe is under new management. The prices are better and so is the food. The fish and chips are no longer greasy! The coffee is wonderful! We wish you success in your new venture as you are needed.

UPDATE: We’ve now been to the Water Vista Cafe many times. Sometimes sitting at the cafe, sometimes having takeaway in the park. I have to say that we don’t think that overall the food and service is as good as when it first opened under the new ownership. We will still go there as my partner likes the fish but the bacon and egg roll I recently had was awful - so much sauce that the bun was saturated in it and it was running out and the bacon was barely cooked.

The issue with sitting in the cafe is that half the seats are high stools at high tables which are not very comfortable for elderly or less...

They lied about their toilet “broken that it wouldn’t flush” The treatment that I received from them was completely unnecessary and unbelievably disgusting. I went into the bathroom and it was just fine nothing was wrong with it!!! It was roped off with a sign saying no public allowed. ( asked very politely if I could use the bathroom and they told me that it was broken!!!!) Even after I bought ( 2 items) from their store inside their cafe, plus I bought a coffee!!! I was very offended by this, I am never going back again!!!! (Also, watching them lie about their toilet to an elderly lady even after I had been, was just the end for me, it was not the thing to do. The people in that cafe the women looked to be about twenty something, they just had no idea, I’d bet that they just didn’t want to clean the toilet that day, that is all it was about. They should be fired for treating...
