Pricing Disappointment on Mother's Day
$65 PP
I recently visited the West Pennant Hills Sports Club on Mother's Day and had an average experience. While the ambiance and service were satisfactory, I couldn't help but feel disappointed with the pricing.
Firstly, the prices for a single main course and an entree totaling $65 seemed quite exorbitant, especially considering that no drinks were included. I expected a more reasonable pricing structure, as it didn't align with the value I received for the meal. It would have been better if the pricing was more transparent and in line with the quality of the food.
On a positive note, the service was adequate, with the staff being polite and attentive. The ambiance of the club was pleasant, and the overall atmosphere was welcoming. However, it's essential to consider the pricing aspect when evaluating the overall experience.
Despite the disappointment regarding the pricing, I must acknowledge the effort put into making Mother's Day special. The club had a nice setup and offered some enjoyable activities for families. The staff also seemed well-prepared to handle the increased number of patrons on this busy day.
In conclusion, while I appreciated the efforts made by West Pennant Hills Sports Club to create a pleasant atmosphere and celebrate Mother's Day, the pricing for a single main course and entree without drinks included was unreasonably high. I hope the management considers reevaluating their pricing strategy to provide better value for money to...
Read moreFamily friendly local club. Indoor childrenâs playground is a key attraction made all the better by being in glassed in soundproof room. Also has a larger kids room with touch screens and tv etc to entertain the older ones while the 6yrs and under squeal like crazy next door. Tuesdayâs kids eat free and parents flock here to remember what life used to be like during the 15 minute intervals the kids stay in the play area for.
Thereâs no parents room specifically but the disabled bathrooms have change tables and nappy bins. And are generally quite clean which is a bonus
Food wise I really enjoy the food here. Can be a bit pricy but the portions are good and the service is stellar. The staff at the bistro are attentive and active and visible. A rarity in itself. I personally love the pizza , but itâs usually unavailable for lunch. Decent coffee and cakes are available so itâs a nice place to do a quick pop in with Aunty or a venue for a family celebration or kids birthday party (yes they âdoâ kids parties also!)
Regular events held such as bingo, Tuesday night NPL poker, and barefoot bowls in summer make it a lively centre of the local community. Front of house staff are lovely and overall a very welcoming venue...
Read moreTerrible food. The burger was soggy and the meat patty taste like slush. Hardly any chips, and the cheese on the burger wasn't even melted..
Wow
Not only are they clueless but they think people actually like their burgers. What world are they living in?
2024 Update:
The club's response was quite interesting. If they can't consistently prepare a simple burger, it raises concerns about the quality of the rest of their menu. I'm willing to give them another chance, hoping they've learned the importance of fresh, handmade patties and have implemented higher standards. However, I'm not overly optimistic considering my past experiences. I am looking forward to visiting soon to see what has changed.
I also encourage you to read my other one-star reviews for renowned burger joints. These places need to live up to their reputation and deliver on quality. It would also be beneficial if the club invested in creating a more inviting social atmosphere and focused on providing a space where people want to spend time. While their reliance on pokies is understandable, other clubs like Wenty's RSL have shown how reinvesting profits can lead to significant upgrades and improved...
