On the first day of our weekend away we chose The Midge for breakfast on a whim and we are so lucky we stopped there! The vibe was so homey and the food was lovely. We had no plans for our weekend and no idea where to go and the wonderful lady serving (I want to say Sharon?) gave us the most amazing advice of places to check out. She even wrote a list with all the top hits in the correct order so we wouldn’t be driving around in circles (and gave us much needed directions 😅). Absolutely saved our weekend, thank you legends!!!!
She was also very patient with half of our table forgetting what they ordered 🫣 We had 8 people and we were able to all be seated together. Serving sizes were generous and all the food came out quickly especially considering there were 8 of us ordering at once. They also have frozen meals and a little grocery shop with reasonable prices which was very helpful as we had not planned anything. I bought some housemade chilli jam and my friend bought a peach & Prosecco jam which we are very excited to try.

I had the toasted rye bread with avocado, tomato, red onion and added spinach as well and a soy latte and it was all delicious. They have an old fashioned sweet counter, as well as home made biscuits and cake. Right near the train station, with a carpark and under 10 mins from the Hume, we’ll definitely be back...

Get to the counter; order curried eggs in sourdough & buy a caramel slice (homemade on-site). The coffee comes after 3-4 minutes, food comes around 10 mins & it is delicious. Decent cutlery & crockery. Coffee is hot and strong. If The Midge was closer, it would be my...
