Applebys Mediterraneo Bar & Grill — Restaurant in Tasmania

The pizzas (marinara and vegetarian) were above average with lots of seafood on the marinara (they are big enough for two people). However, the fish of the day, trout (along with boar fish, which we did not order) was explained to us as being wild caught, but when we were served our meal it was identified as ocean trout (which almost certainly means it was farmed, probably in Tasmania and would not have ordered if we had known this as we deliberately avoid Tasmanian farmed fish due to its damaging environmental effects). That said, the fish was perfectly cooked and did taste nice. The coffee was also excellent (and a big cup, but $6.50). Meals are generous (would prefer smaller at lower price) and there was no room for dessert (quite expensive at nearly $20).

Service was very good. Venue is a little noisy due to brick walls and tile floors when there is a big group around and we had to ask them to turn the music down as it was too loud.

10% surcharge on Sundays and 15% on public holidays as well as credit card surcharge (sure it would be cheaper for them to not take cash at all as I bet most...

Went for a birthday dinner, was told when server came to order the drinks only and food later, that’s fine. But after 40 mins we asked if could order now and the older lady snapped at us and said someone would come. The server that then came was very rude no apologies and then was blunt and unpleasant rest of the night. Sadly the food wasn’t great, the focaccia bread we got was meant be garlic was tasteless - I personally got one of the specials on the menu and wasn’t pleasant - however others at the table said their meals were okay. So from the rude service and not pleasant food or atmosphere (total time to actually get food was and hour and a half - when left people who arrived 15mins after us still didn’t have food when we were leaving) I won’t be coming to this place again or recommend it. I understand waiting for food but this was ridiculous considering we were told a time to be there and still waited that long. Won’t...

I absolutely loved this place. So inviting relaxing n smelt great. Even tho my partner and I got a sitter for our 5 kids to have some time to ourself the kids corner looked so inviting and relaxing. Toilets so clean smelt amazing from beautiful flowers. Our food, O M G 😲👌😍 The service was friendly, helpful, and lovely. Even tho it was very busy that night our food came out pretty quickly n was cooked to perfection, and tasted amazing. I hadn't even heard of this place until I won the 1st voucher from the radio station from celebrating my birthday and had my announcement on there. Imso glad I won. Even tho there high priced omg it's so worth it. You Definitely get what you pay for. Thank you such an inviting relaxing environment. And so clean.
