Evandale Cafe — Restaurant in Tasmania

As visitors from interstate staying in Evandale overnight, we were lucky this gem of a place was open late on a Thursday ( nothing else was). A minimal dinner menu but the fish was so fresh, lightly battered and cooked to perfection as were the chips. The beef burger with the lot was exactly that - homemade beef patty, lettuce, tomato, beetroot (yes!), fried onion, cheese, egg & bacon! My parents recently visited Evandale from QLD and had an exceptional experience at this cafe. The owner provided outstanding service, going above and beyond to accommodate my mother's dietary needs by preparing a low-salt egg burger, which she described as the best she's ever had. Lady at the counter stuffed my order up and and made me a long black coffee instead of a cappuccino and it burnt my tongue when I tried it. All good as I took it back in and told her that she got mine mixed up.
