The staff are a cut above and were knowledgeable, friendly and engaging. We cannot stress enough, you cannot fault the service at this place! The views and location are also amazing. The dining area is spacious and the views are incredible. I wish the food tasted as good as the staff explained it. We didn’t dislike the food but considering where you are and the price tag, it leaves a lot to be desired. We had the hummus, pickles and sourdough for starters. These were ok the dips were missing seasoning and attention to detail to make them memorable and the sourdough was ok but not amazing. For mains we had the handmade pasta and the reserve wagyu steak along with balsamic tomatoes and triple cooked potatoes. The pasta was nice but again did not present the wow moment a venue and experience like this should. Perhaps for me the steak is the saddest part. I was told all about and couldn’t wait for a melt in your mouth wagyu but instead it was hard to cut through, chewy at points and generally lacking the umami I was looking forward to. The balsamic tomatoes were not acidic and were somewhat bland. Perhaps the highlight of the meal, the potatoes were nice. They were crispy, reasonably seasoned and very golden which was fantastic. Dessert was an apricot cake and caramel ice cream sandwich. These again were ok but nothing more. The biscuit in the sandwich was tough and it was a small serving and the cake was nice but the flavour just wasn’t elevated to the level it should be. The wine and general drinks selection was a major positive and the wait staff gave knowledgeable recommendations which were much appreciated. I wanted to adore this restaurant, it is incredible in so many ways but paying the bill of almost $400 for a dinner for two that left us unsatisfied and wondering how it was so average was disappointing. We are unable to justify returning unless the flavour of the food changes drastically.

Very good atmosphere but the food left much to be desired We had the 'feed me' option (all courses chosen by the chef) and was quite disappointed. We thought it is like a tasting menu where you get to try the best signature dishes but instead, we didn't get to try the fish nor the beef nor the lamb. We were instead given a lot of burnt chicken wings and too much baked potatoes. The feed me option is 50 aud per person and all the food we had, if ordered separately, comes down to 50.8 per person. I don't see why anyone would do the feed me option given that there is no discount and a poor portioning choices. We can't possibly finish so much salad and potatoes? I left the restaurant feeling cheated. Perhaps the others mains we didn't get to try are good but we'd never know as we are stuffing ourselves with potatoes.

We had dinner here on our last night at Piermont. What a treat it was! The atmosphere was lovely in the dining room, the fire was on as we were staying during May. We were looked after by the lovely Pasco, he had such great energy and really looked after us and gave great advice on the food and wine list, we really appreciated his service. The food was absolutely incredible! We could not fault anything. We splashed out and got desserts after which were honestly the best desserts we ever had! An amazing experience, we hope to come back one day. Thank you to the talented chefs, Pasco and the Piermont team
