The name The Confessional did seem like not my cup of tea at first but this little stop off on the side of the highway is more than one can expect from a shipping container close to a highway and petrol station. We had the steak and mushroom pie. This was gravy heavy with chunks of meat and mushroom. The pastry held up with the amount of liquid in the pie. Solid and did not become messy or sloppy. Was great. The relish might have been a bit too cold on the pie, but then again it was 0.1 degree at the time. Coffee was good and there is a selection of other beaked goods in the window we didn't explore. Worth the stop off if you pass by the container.

Lyndal and her son are amazing. Very friendly and great to talk to. Lyndal makes the carrot cake which we swear is the best and from her stories, Lee Kernigan and The Wolfe Brothers ( her friends) agree. If you should read the one star review on here … well that was from a rude entitled customer who thought he could disrespect her business. You don’t sit on tables in other people’s business that’s what chairs are for. We were just passing by … do yourself a favour and stop at this quaint roadside coffee shop.

This is a must stop place to get something really delicious 😋 😍 The service is exceptional, the food is home made and the coffee is made just the way we like it 👍 We highly recommend the Scallop Pie, Chicken and Camembert Pie and the mouth-watering Ham and cheese on wholemeal sourdough toastie, with just the right amount of delicious gooey cheese 👌👌om nom nom nom 🧀 🤤

Intending to stop here on my weekly trip up from the South having seen a great giant roadside ad a good 20 plus K,s away from the site. Next signage is small and easily missed when travelling at speed only to pass it and not see the turn , overshot it again but turned around to realise the turn in is before the sign. On wanting to advise them sign should logically be before said turnoff I was confronted with an icy small or large and could see that they have been told this before. So my guess is it's an fu to tourists we only want locals here. How was the coffee, can't say did not deserve my biz. Ok 3 months down the track and put in a situation that had me forced into this establishment again . I entered warily but was greeted warmly and reciprocated. Service on this occassion was prompt , polite and the coffee amazing. So reading across the reviews I see they match the customers energy, maybe if all service industries did that then manners would be common place again. Thanks for teaching me a...

Dropping in for the first time to check it out and grab a coffee I was shocked and appalled by the service, demeanour and language of the two staff.

The older dark hair lady who I assume is the owner or manager was downright rude and sarcastic when ordering coffee. She openly swore about our group and acted like we were a complete inconvenience to her day.

I can understand hospitality can be rough and people have hard days, but this behaviour is completely unacceptable and destroys even the best business in the long run.

Super disappointing as I travel to Hobart regularly and it seemed like a nice place to stop. It was a horrible experience and I wish for the sake of the business and other customers that this is rectified. I hope to be able to stop in again for a coffee with a professional and...

I just want to make clear the coffee is very good here. The food looks amazing too, with what we had being quite yummy.

However, neither my partner or I can recommend stopping. We ordered our coffee and cookies, without much issue until we were asked about sugars by the person serving us. We declined sugar and proceeded to be interrupted by the other lady working there, lecturing us about manners and not saying "no thankyou" - despite my partner being in the middle of doing so! She continued to make comments following that, treating us like children. My partner is a very, very polite person, saying please and thankyou anytime we order something. Both of us were taken very aback by this lady's rudeness and lack of kindness.

Thanks for the nice coffee but we will not...
