Very disappointing stay, after staying here prior. Rooms was very dusty, smelt mouldy and run down. I understand that COVID has impacted us all, I'm a business owner too. However, if tourists have decided to travel to support the towns. Do the decent thing and make sure the room is worth their stay. Why wasn't the restaurant open? Advising the day before by email that the restaurant will be closed is not good enough, especially when there are no other places to eat in town. "Get something on the way" is what we were advised to do. No much fun after travelling for 24hrs to get here. No suggestions or directions to "grab" something, remembering we're tourists. A little hamper of sandwiches would have been sufficient. Grounds are impeccably beautiful. Filled with native fauna and flora. We came back to see the animals, which again didn't disappoint. It was the humans that let us down.. To again have a meal at the restuarant; which left an impression on us last visit. Very gutted. Sad way to start the trip.

their food is really good and the staff just makes the experience even more enjoyable :-) the outdoor seating (see photo 1) is really nice! it was raining outside but because it’s a fully roofed outdoor seating makes it really nice to sit outside (much brighter too when the sun’s still out!)

Great accomodation, good facilities, huts were well equipped. Beside that, we had the opportunity to see wildlife (wallabies, wombats and equidna) around the hotel and with several short walks through the forest, lovely location!

What a great spot !! Best kept secret in Tassie ? We stayed here at the Caravan Park and got a powered site which was well shaded, but note that the tap water needs boiling or BYO. There’s a number of walks around the estate, which we took in the Big Tree walk before stopping by The Highlander for a beverage and dinner. The staff were super friendly and we had a great meal. Couldn’t have had a better stop over on the...

Bookings essential I ordered the Flathead but it was dry and tasteless In retrospect probably should stick to the ruling that if it’s not grown in the area it may not be top quality. 2 other meals ordered were Penne Neapolitian and A Chicken parmagana. Both were excellently presented and tasty. All dishes were served with Chips and Salad both fantastic salad was fresh and tasty chips crunchy...
