We first visited Thistle Hut in Jan 2020 when we travelled to Tasmania. It is such a special place and the food is amazing. They also do serve the best scones - so much so that when we visited Tasmania again in Jul 2022, my kids were adamant that we visit Thistle Hut for the scones! Tracy cooks with love and takes much care with the choice of produce and the way it's prepared. We went there thrice this trip and my son could not stop talking about the mince and spuds. When we finally left to the airport this time, we drove past Thistle Hut and my 7 year old exclaimed loudly "Bye bye Thistle Hut, I love you and will see you again". She definitely spoke for...

Great pit stop for lunch during our drive from Cradle Mountain to Stanley. I was so surprised with their extensive menu which featured some wholesome dishes which are really unique - something different from the usual items you see at other cafes. We ordered their scone with cream/jam (thumbs-up) and special lunch dishes- fish curry with rice (which at $32 might not be so wallet-friendly but was thoroughly enjoyed by my husband). Love the decor and the ambience too. The cafe also stocks vintage clothes. I was pleased to find some fabulous buys too after my meal. Busy owners warmed up after a short while to have a short lovely...

we were desperately looking for a place to have dinner when we found this cute little place along the road. as we entered we asked if we could have something to eat, without realizing that it was close for a private event. anyway the lady was so nice to give us some of their food (basically what was left) because she knew we shouldn't easily find anything open.... and she made us leave without paying!! we were very grateful for her kindness! Besides, the food was really good. I totally recommend...

Popped in far a quick take away coffee and morning sweet and ended meeting the nicest owners of this wonderful cafe. Found out it was built by a husband and wife team. You would think the building was historic but is only a few years old, it has a lovely soul. Their care, pride and attention is apparent and felt even from just our modest takeaway coffees. We will be back to enjoy a meal very soon. ..... Thinking the lamb 🤔

Don’t drive past this place without stopping for a bite to eat! We drove past in the evening on our way to the Edge of the World to see the sunset, saw the sign advertising the bacon and egg roll, so we decided to stop by for breakfast the next morning on the way to Stanley. We weren’t disappointed. Friendly service, cool little place with charm and character, and the food and coffee were delicious. Highly recommend it.
