Service was one of the rudest and weirdest experiences I’ve had. Girl at the cashier refused to even speak to us when we approached, we had to be the first to say anything. We then stood to the corner waiting for our takeaway coffee for almost 20 minutes, being completely ignored by everyone and watching people who ordered after us receiving their coffee. It got to the point where I had to ask a passing waitress who had to go back and ask the baristas. She came back asking us to wait another 10 minutes, to which I replied that we had already been waiting 20. When the waitress went back and told the male barista, he then glared at us and mouthed across the cafe to wait another 10 minutes. Bay Leaf Cafe is a popular spot for breakfast and lunch, offering a pleasant dining experience. For breakfast, I ordered an omelette, which was satisfying, and for lunch, I had a steak burger that was equally decent. The staff were friendly and the place was clean, enhancing the overall experience. The pleasant atmosphere was likely due to the dry season, making it not too hot. The Tradie Roll was delicious. Coffee very good. Unfortunately was quite busy and understaffed so a bit slow on service side of things on that day - but that can always and will most likely improve. Sometimes we all have off days! It is lovely inside and highly recommend staying in for breaky/brunch/lunch or take-away like we did as we had to hit the road.
